| Has Anyone Ever Heard of a Neutered Boy Becoming a Daddy? I have a little girl who just had her first heat and my 3 yr. old boy (who is fixed) thought she was just "it" the past 2 weeks. I figured since he was fixed that even if they were together that she could not get pregnant! Maybe she is having a false pregnancy but her teats are all swollen, she has been spitting up yellow foamy vomit and she has been sleeping by my side non-stop! Anybody ever heard of a neutering not working? Thanks for your advice! |

| I'm not an expert but if a vasotomy can go bad why can't a neuter? Hence why I am pregnant now with twins when my husband was fixed 3 years ago. Hopefully someone will be able to better answer your question.

| I have never heard of it but like Baileys mom said above if it can happen in humans it may be able to happen in dogs as well! P.S. congrats on the twins Baileys momma! How exciting but it sounds like it was very unexpected

| Arghhh Well... Youv'e definitely got me thinking I had better call the vet... The killer of the whole thing is after going through the whole ordeal (two weeks of diapers and yuk!) I decided to leave the breeding to the breeders and enjoy the two I have. If I wanted a puppy there are plenty of people who know what they are doing! Maybe she is just faking it to get some extra lovin'! |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | If it's a traditional neuter, they remove the testes and there isn't anything to produce the sperm. Now, I've heard of surgeries where they leave the testes and then, I guess that is possible.

| I sure hope not. Two of my shihtzu's have been stuck together once a day the last four days. The male has been neutered. They've been stuck together lots of times before and nothing happened, so I don't think I have anything to worry about. Joan |

| Are you planning to breed your little girl? If not, please get her spayed as soon as possible. We lost a dog to pyometra years ago. If I sound like a broken record, there's a reason. It was a very horrible thing that my family went through and it all could have been avoided if we had gotten her spayed. http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_pyometra.html The yellow foam she is vomiting sounds like bile from an empty stomach. Do you free feed her to stick to regular mealtimes? |

| Hmmmmmm, I have never heard that one. Maybe it would be best for both to have a check up. Please keep us posted.

| Yes, I agree -- being neutered (testicles removed) is a very different procedure from a vasectomy. A male dog that has been neutered should not be able to impregnant a female. Your little girl may well be having a false pregnancy. This is really quite common. Let us know -- Carol Jean |
