| Teddy bear anyone? A wonderful couple came over this weekend to pick up their puppy. They live in NY City. We were talking about designer breeds and such. So they asked me if I heard of a 'Teddy Bear'. A 'Teddy Bear' is a puppy that is mixed with a lot of breeds and then there is the TRUE Teddy Bear that is mixed with Shih Tzu and Bichon. I did a search and they all have a different look. Check out these sites: http://puppystars.com/bear.html http://teddybearpuppy.com/franchise.html http://www.teddybearpuppies.net/ http://dirtypawsteddybears.com/teddybear2.html Anyone else hear of the 'teddy bear' puppy? |

| They are sooooooo cute!!! I seriously considered getting one before I got Bella, but my SO really wanted a Yorkie. I've always loved the Yorkie's but those Teddy bears look so cuddly and every Bichon I've come across has been the friendliest roly poly thing ever. |

| Wow, cuties!! Some do have more of the Shi-tzu look with the puggier face but I guess with any mixture, some take on more characteristics of one or the other breed. I didn't look real far on those sites but what I saw was all puppies. Did they show any grown ones?

| They certainly are adoreable but I have this thing about mixing breeds. Are they Teddy Bears or just mutts?

| I can't believe that you can copyright a dog. I mean come on you want to be so exclusive that you not only put a patient out on it but you are selling franchises. It is still a mixed breed dog and although they are cute it still looks like a Lhasa Apso or Shih Tsu. My cousin has a male AKC Lhasa Apso that looks like one of those dogs. And my Uncle has a Shih Tsu tha looks like them too they don't really shed. I could see if you new "designer dog" was really cute AND unique looking like that PANDA puppy that would be a different story, but come on now...... |

| This is new to me too! Cute, but I too have a problem with the designer puppy idea. You never really know what traits are going to come out.
