| it really depends on your area ocean. many dept. stores just don't care as long as you don't let them on the floor. i worked at and shop at pier1 often and they don't care. most high end shopping areas do not care. many have said they were asked to leave places like target and walmart. i just don't take mine restaurants and such, but when we evacuate and have to stop i ask if they can come in (i won't leave them in the car) but you see a sea of pets then and most understand the situation.
