| Banfield Vets What's everyone's opinion about going to the Banfield Hospital at Petsmart? I got a pamplet about their Optimum Wellness Puppy Plan and it does seem like a good plan for a puppy's first year. Does anyone take their pups to Banfield or had any experiences with Banfield vets?

| I'm sure they are all different...but we had a great experience and we have the exact ins. plan you mentioned. Our first visit ( 2 puppies at 12 weeks) would have cost me 260.00. Instead I just paid the monthly fee. I worked it all out...and it does save you money especially the first year. My husband and I figured we wanted something in place where we didn't hesitate to take them in because of money. This way every office visit is free. So even if we have a slight question I can take them and not get hit with a 50.00 visit fee. The vet was very sweet with them...and even did a follow up call to see how they did with the shots. IMO they were really nice and considerate. Unfortunatly every place is different. I would say go meet the vet...and if you like him/her the package is great. Hope that helps.

| I have a pretty new puppy too and take him to Banfield. So far it has been a good experience for me. I also have the wellness plan. I think it's a good deal because this is my first puppy and i want to be able to take him in whenever I want without worrying about insane bills. Also if you get your pet spayed or neutered it really adds up. |

| right now i take bunjee to a banfield and i'm kinda ambivalent about it. i initial signed up for the wellness plan 'cause i'm a new puppy owner and i know i'm going to be paranoid about every little thing that can happen to him, and didn't want to worry about the cost of a dr. office visit. the cost of the enrollment fee plus the first year's fees is basically a wash in terms of how much it would cost me if i did the same thing out of pocket, but anything outside of what's covered in the wellness plan seem really overpriced to me. the vets are good. most of the staff are nice. the care is pretty good, but i just don't feel like it's anything special given the price they charge. i'm contemplating whether or not to continue after the first year. |

| I have Gypsy on the wellness plan and according to the last visit I have saved almost 100.00. She has been going a lot due to kennel cough and while I have pd out of pocket a lot also cause the plan does not pay for everything. For example a visit with xrays and meds cost me 177.00 but would have been more if I did not have the plan. I love the vet, she is really nice and seems to care about Gypsy. Because my dtr's pup had kennel cough when she got it she recommended not getting the plan till he was better just in case. Then she was able to go on it for 1/2 price which I thought was nice.
