How far to walk.... I'm planning on going for a 2 mile walk after work. I've walked Daisy numerous times but no way near that far. She's 4 pounds and right now in Jersey its about 50-52. Do you think she would be able to make it that far or should i put her in her stroller? Thanks

That might be a bit far, unless she has done 2 miles before... The weather shouldn't be too bad if she has a little jacket or sweater on, I would think she'd get tired going for such a long walk unless she is used to it. Though you could always carry her when she gets tired. Yoda has made it around a 3.5 mile walk around a lake here, but he did grow into it, as we would keep increasing the distance we walked everytime we did it.

I know i have to increase it. Its hard to walk her and then push the stroller at the same time in case she gets tired. Hmmm..... so hard on what to do.

If she loves to go on walks, then I say go for it!!!! You will know when she starts to get tired...then you can pick her up to rest...because I am sure she will want back down as soon as she rests a few minutes. 2 of our yorkies LOVE to walk...and they have both walked several miles before and LOVED it. However, one of our yorkies HATES to walk...so I would never take her on a 2 mile walk. But, since she is a walker, I say go for it!! And pick her up if she gets tired.

My little Debbie will walk and walk. Sometimes she stops and when I ask if she wants me to carry her, she starts moving again. Don't worry. She'll let you know what she wants to do. Yorkies always do. Two miles isn't all that far when the weather is nice. If it was real hot or cold it would be another story.

Zoe who use to be 6 lbs...(she is now 8 due to having pups) loves to walk..in the summer we walk her 5 miles aday...( we always bring water with us) Now Lizzy who is 4lbs and 6.5 months old is up to 2 miles aday...she did have to work up to this....she would just stop walking when she was tired and sometimes she would paw our legs to be picked up. Lizzy would actually walk farther but its me who has to work up to going farther after the long winter off..lol
