Making a weird noise Hey, Tikki is making weird noises yesterday and today, no sneezing or coughing.. sounds like hiccups...How are hiccups in yorkies? Are they like gagging or is that something else? Sometimes is sounds like she's swallowing, but mixed with a gag... If anyone has information please share it with me, it would be greatly apprecitated. -Alexandra and TIkki

| I haven't heard but alot of people describe it as sounding kinda like a cough. I don't know if thats it your pup could just have his own little sound it makes.

Ivy has reverse sneezing at least once a day usually when she gets really excited. It kind of sounds like she's coughing/choking. The vet says when she does it to slide my hand down her neck and this will make her swallow and she will stop, it works for Ivy. If you don't do anything though I dont think it matters it will just go away by itself.

Hi...my little guy TJ (5 months) just started to do it too. It happen 2 days after it got his booster shot. I still have NO IDEA what it is that he is doing. At first I thought he was choking so I looked in his mouth and found nothing, I opened his mouth so wide and tilted his head back and he let out a BIG cough and then he was fine. Then for the next few days he would dry heave and/or vomit a little too. Now a week and 1/2 later he is not dry heaving or vomitting but he is still doing that 'thing'. It is a least once a day, usually after he eats. It is hard to describe what iit is. It seems to be happening all on its own. He doesn't stop what he is doing and I don't even think he notices that it is happening. It kinda seems like he is doing a continual over and over (about 5-10 x) of swallowing (or maybe a gag or choke like thing, I DON"T KNOW!!!!) I immediate pick him up and try to rub his throat it still happens a few more times and he won't stay still, he is wiggle worm and then it just stops. I have a call into the Vet b/c I am scared it is Kennel Cough. (I did hear him cough yesterday morning, but it wasn't a harsh cough, it was 3 little normal coughs). Although, this morning TJ and Roxy was playing and I thought that they were sneezing, but I am now thinking that maybe they both were coughing a little. I don't know!!! I wish they could talk...

Thanks for the link. BUT, OH. I am still so confused...It definately seems more like a spasm (that's the word I had been looking for at the tip of my tongue). And the times that I have caught him doing it is kinda after he eats or drinks, but he doesn't stop and stand still with legs bowed out. Instead he contiues on with what he was doing (walking, sniffing, etc.) as if NOTHING is happening. There is NO honking going on (although I am at work during the day and the link said the honk, honk thing is more during the day than at night). So I will sit here being confussed until the Vet finally calls me back!
