Introducing a new dog into the home? I mentioned a while back that I was going to be dog sitting this month. Well, Teddy and the dog I will be dog sitting have never met. The dog I'll be sitting is a 3yr female yorkie. Teddy is still only 10mths old. I am supposed to go over her house this weekend so that Teddy and the other dog and can meet and sniff each other. I don't want their initial meeting to go badly, i.e, what if she doesn't like him and tries to attack Teddy. I know Teddy gets along with other dogs just fine, I don't think her dog been socialized with other dogs. Any Suggestions

They will probably get along just fine. Both my dogs are happy guys if another dog ever visit - whether they know that dog or not. But - when you go over the her house - you might have her bring her dog out into the yard to meet your dog before you take your dog into the house. If her dog hasn't been around other animals - this would probably be the best place to start. I'll bet you'll have no problem. If you suspect any problems - just hold your dogs and let them get used to one another (while they are still apart) before you let them go. Good luck! Carol Jean

I brought Silk home when Ceeby was five months old and ceeby loved her. It took her a couple of days to get used to me and our home but she and Ceeby got along fine. Same with my new baby I recently brought home. No problem. Silk was five years old and Dixie was nine weeks.
