Roxi is getting soooo mean!!!! For some reason my little furbaby is begining to get really cranky lately. She went to the vet 4 days ago and had her boosters, since then she has really changed. I dont know if it is because she is teething (i noticed she is missing about 4 teeth on the bottom) but she isn't herself. She is growling and snapping at my kids alot. They do have a tendency to bother her while she is resting, but she has never snapped or growled at anyone.Maybe she is getting tired of them bothering her. Is this typical for teething? She also has been eating her kibble alot less than normal (INNOVA EVO). Could it be due to the teeth? She isn't acting like her normal energetic self, she is more tired and sleeping more. I dont know what to do, Can someone please help me! I don't want her to be a "mean dog".

Maybe she doesn't feel well? I'd take her to the vet and have her checked out. She may not want to be disturbed and she snaps because she's out of sorts from illness. Julie

| It does sound to me like she is teething - and I would try to get the kids to stop pestering her - that might lead to problems. At about 4 months, Rowdy started barking at us and growling when he was playing, not minding, not coming, running from us, etc etc. He was a BRAT! We had to get his attention and then he was a different little boy. I've mentioned this is several threads - I had his harness on him and when he would bark at us or act bratty, I'd grab him (gently) by him by the back of his harness and shake (startle) him - not shake him hard, but enough to really startle him. I'd look him in the eye and say, NO, very sternly along with the shake. I only had to do it on 3 occasions and he then was a very well behaved little boy. I do think though, that you should stop the teasing. I'm sure that others with lots more experience than me will give you more (better) advice.

Thanks alot. Yes the kids have been instructed to "leave roxi alone", they really arent teasing her...It's more like not letting her rest. They are soooo used to holding her and playing with her and now she doesn't like it. It's like she is a whole new dog! It is kinda hard for me to "leave her alone" too because I am so used to carrying her around, loving and kissing her. And now she is snubbing everyone, She is running from us alot too. Gosh I sure hope this gets better! it's like she has PMS !!!! So moody too! but she is only 4 1/2 months old. Please tell me this is either teething or hormones!

How old is ur yorkie? My Yorkie is gonna turn 3 months old and she is teething like crazy. She does get annoyed when my 3yrs old teases her. She will growl and she gets testy with her, but I think sometimes they just need their quiet time and can lose their heads when they don't have enough quiet time. That's what I think anyways. After some napping she goes ahead and plays with my daughter like nothing happened. If ur little guy ain't feeling better after some quiet time she might be getting sick or it maybe time for her to get her "friend" if u know what I mean ....How old is ur Yorkie?? Well, either way I hope she feels better.
