Vaccination Boosters ??? Do you get your furbabies vaccinated with DHLP Booster and PARVO Booster every year ? Mine only weigh 5 lbs each and I'm wondering if they are getting over Boostered ? They are indoor babies most of the year in our area. They get their rabies shot every 3 yrs but Im wondering if their immune system carries the DHLP and PARVO in their systems longer. Any information would be helpful, thanks....

shots I give all puppy shots, except Lepto..then a booster around 2 to 3 yrs..again at 6 yrs and no more after that age..but that is only me. Do an Internet search on over vaccinating and send it to the vet to explain your decision.

| I believe in over-vaccinating. If you're concerned about your yorkie's immunity you could request a titer (blood test to test level of immunity). I vaccinate my puppies with the minimal vaccines (no lepto, corona, bordatella,ect..) Then I re-vaccinate every 3 yrs.

Thanks for the information. I believe my babies being 6 yrs and 8 yrs old now, they don't need those boosters every year being indoor dogs. I can see the rabies shot every 3 yrs because thats law here, but the others I don't think are a threat to their life if they don't get them each year. I was just wondering how the rest of you felt about these boosters every year for DHLP and Parvo that the vets are always pushing. Thanks foryour input.

over vax My concern is only parvo and distempter. plan on titering my puppy when I get him to see what he has in him already. I don't believe in boosters. I think one is enough. I may do nosodes if the titer comes out low. I know there isn't solid proof on it, but I've met many breeders who have had success with them. As far as rabies, I don't believe in that one. I think the side effects are worse then the possibility of what could happen. Some states allow you to titer for that too to use as proof. My opinion. I would do some research if I were you. I have some websites i can send you if you email me or PM me. suzie
