| I was at the vet once recently and heard a dog making a lot of commotion to in the back room and the vet poked her head out to see what was going on and she came back in and said "Oh, poor thing...anal glands". I never knew it was painful either. I am never around when the groomer does it. |

| my malt has problems with his, he's 3 years old but my yorkie (knock on wood) has never seemed to have any problems. I had Bentley's done at the vet when I first started to notice problems. I groom them myself so the groomer isn't an option for me but the vet showed me how so when I bathe Bentley I get the "fun" job.

| Hunter had to get his anal glands excreted once at the vet! they charge 16 dollars for that! can you believe it! i found out that groomer only charges 3!!! but anyway he didn't really cry that much. My vet is a woman though and she used her pinky finger so maybe that is why he was ok?? i don't know but he didn't act like it killed him?
