To dock or not to dock I am not starting this for a debate..just curious..simple yes or no..do you beleive in docking or not? I do..oh so that would be a yes lol |
well i guess i can't tell people they can't debate lol..just didn't want to start one..i was just wondering if others think it should be done or not.. |
Yes :) |
No, but you guys already know that from the other thread ;) |
My opinion on the matter is yes. |
Yes - I like the look. But if it were to ever be outlawed I wouldn't mind. :D |

i personally wish it was outlawed here, but my yorkies do have their tails docked, emeralds babies we left them partly because I didn't have the nerve to do it, but I have seen some with tails and i thought they were adorable! :D |
The part of doing it sucks plain and simple..but I do think they look nicer that way. cute lil bob of a tail wagglin ... |
I've never seen a yorkie whos tail hasn't been docked. How do they carry them? I like the looks of the other breeds with tails, so I guess if the changed the standard it would be ok. So that is a firm MAYBE. LOL |
does anybody have a pic of a yorkie with an undocked tail? |
I really dont like the sounds of the docking proceedure so If I had a choice I would have my dogs undocked. Unfortunately they were docked when I got them. |
In the UK its more common to see an undocked yorkie than a docked one. That said, my Pippa is docked, I like the look of docked but if she'd had a litter i wouldnt have had them docked. I think its an unnecessary tradition which is fading in the Uk as its illegal here unless done by a vet and a lot of vets wont do it. Uk kennel club standard is either docked or undocked |

When my boy wags that little stub I sometimes wish he had a full tail. I have never seen one with a full tail either but I am sure it looks beautiful just the same. |
I think they are trying to do away with doing ears in pits and other breeds too aren't they? I always thought it was the norm but when I had my pit and took her to get her ears done the vet that worked there at the time treated me like crap. I had no idea it was taboo in his mind. But I have to say I love that look on pits but I also love them without their ears done too.. I know way off from a yorkies lil tail..lol |
yes.. I do. |
TeeJay's little stub looks so natural. I know that sounds weird but it's because it's pointy at the end. That's why I couldnt come to terms with the fact that yorkies were born with long tails! |
Tashas tail was docked longer than jersey's i think tashas looks a little funny..not bad funny just funny lol..that made absolutely no sense did it..I wonder if I should take a nap lol |
No... My lucy and Tank are docked but I feel it's jsut the same as the cropping of ears. I chose not to do the cropping to my GreatDane and my Schnauzer.... I have to admit that I love docked tails and cropped ears but I also love long tails and floppy ears.... There are a couple people with Yorkies with long tails on here... I'm sure they'll post pics. for some of you to see Crystal |
We have a little Yorkie girl angel living across the street from us that is undocked, looks odd at first because as most here have said they have never seen one,That being said it looks like a little flag waving in the air when she comes running across the street for a love and a hug. |
suposed to be For Akc standards there tails are to be docked . now do I beleive in it to an extent yes , but to another extent no. |

I vote docked..... |
OK well I think who ever started docking tails should have their tails docked. Yes it is standard, but who in the heck started that anyway. I have seen very cute Yorkies with tails, the only reason it looks funny is because we are not used to seeing it. If I had my choice, Princess would have her tail, I just can't stand the thought of her being in pain. If I was a Breeder, I would have them docked, but only because it's standard. But I'm not a Breeder so I will say no. :) |

this is the exact extent i was talking about ( not agreeing part ) i think it is animal cruelty. but that is just my opinion. |
When I was purchasing my puppy I hesitated because his tail was docked. I grew up in UK and my family always had Yorkies with tails. If I had a choice I would have said leave his tail. |
4 Attachment(s) I was for docking until I found out the new puppy I'm getting on Monday was not docked. I started researching it and found pictures that helped me decide. You can decide for yourselves. |
Yes, dock. |
They look adorable with tails. I think the only reason it looks odd at all is we are not used to seeing it. When I was little, my family had schnauzers, and their tails were docked and ears cropped. When I first started seeing floppy eared schnauzers I thought they looked odd...but it's just what your used to. I would definately get a puppy with an undocked tail! (why not, I have a 12.4 lb floppy-eared, light silver yorkie...lol) |
