Just say NO to docking. :D |
yes because i like the look. but only if it is done in the most humane was possible. i also wouldn't mind if it were outlawed thought because it can be a cruel practice from what ive read and heard. |
I don't really care either way. Docked or not docked both ways look cute. Both of mine are docked but i would buy a yorkie with a full tail too. |
ive had 3 that were docked and now have another 3 yorkies 1 without her tail as she was docked before i got her and i have 2 boys who have there tails and thats cos i bred them and wouldnt dock. the only reason docking was done was cos they used yorkies to kill rats the man would hold the dog by the docked tail and shove them down holes it was safer for the dog to not have a tail that is the ONLY reason it was done not so the dog looked better. in the uk docking makes people  . i must admitt when i first had dogs with there tails it took some getting use to and looked strange. but as to do you agree with docking or not ask your self this can you honestly say if you had got your dogs with tails and by law you the owner had to dock the tail you would be able to do that to your dog inflict pain on them? would you still say you agree or would you change your mind? so i say no |

not starting anything , But can you honestly tell me that you know the pups dont feel there tail being cut off ??????????????? Think about it for a minute they are living breathing animals just like us would you feel it if i cut off your finger ? if it happend when you where a baby you might not remember it but you probly felt and and I think that the pups feel it when there tails get cut off. |

Besides, I wasn't yelling, just wanted to state that loud and clear because if I just said, "No, it doesn't hurt when you get your finger whacked off," if I didn't go ahead and explain, there would be 50 people asking "how do you know?" BTW...your mom had spitz pups...Eskimo Spitz pups? |
ok sorry again. ok i did not meen to sound mean there but i think i did. I am not saying that it is wrong to do it , it is standard to do it yes , but would I do it if It was not standard no I wouldnt. ok I wanted to say sorry for posting that last message it did not sound very nice. |

No, I was just asking because we used to have a Spitz...named Eagle :( ...I didn't think it was standard to dock a Spitz? |
yup Quote:
she had to put the spit'z ( Missy ) to sleep at 20 years old. VEry smart dogs though they really are. Missy used to walk me to the bus stop every day then get me off the bus when I find her pictures I will post one of her. She was black and white. |

I dont rightly know there. Quote:

BTW=By The Way And BTW...it is not standard to dock a Spitz ;) |
no her puppies did Quote:
ok sorry ( missy had a litter of puppies ) when my father had there tail docked they bled to death at 2 days old. that is what I ment . |
ok Quote:
I know that they docked the puppies tales but I do not think that missy's was docked. She was the registered one , and I am not even sure that the puppies where not mutt's. |

I'm glad someone posted pictures here showing what a yorkie looks like without the tail docked.:notworthy I've been very curious how they would look and have considered not docking. But, will probably dock in the future anyway because that's what most expect. :animal-pa |
I really like this forum because everyone seems so tolerant and seems to be here to make friends and get great advice. I'm sure most of you are here for the same reason. Everyone's "opinion" is right because it is their own. Like I said previously, I will be getting my undocked little girl on Monday and I will post pictures and we can all watch her and her tail grow together! |
http://www.yorkshire-terrier-journal...erie-neu-6.jpg Here is a great photo of a yorkie with a natural undocked tail. It's from this german website. http://www.yorkshire-terrier-journal...erie-neu-6.jpg |
I birthed 3 of my kids..my youngest is adopted. Anyway back to my point. I gave birth to my 3 oldest NATURALLY..no pain meds what so ever none none none. My first was so big but it was too late when they realized that..so he came out anyway with a messed up arm and with me they had to reconstruct me..so if I can go through that plus birth 2 other children naturally and survive it I think a 3 day old pup can survive his tail docked. I'm sure it does hurt but so doesn't alot of things..piercing a baby's ear probably doesn't feel the greatest. Thats part of life. I doubt a 3 year old yorkie is going to look at me with hate for takin his poor lil tail lol..i hope not anyway.. Besides look what we all do to ourselves just to look better..like sit ups..those hurt don't like em..well poo i don't do them either..better come up with something better hadn't i lol..anyway you know what i mean..beauty can be painful.. |
