I was young when i had my 3 oldest and thought nothing of it. But i can honestly say at this age I wouldn't do it. It's funny how you change when you get older. My sister had her daughters ears pierced and all I could think was how uncomfortable it must be for her to sleep in them. But when my girls were babies and I pierced their ears at that time I thought nothing of it. lol..age changes alot of things.

Thank you for posting these pictures. The last three are great examples of what yorkies look like with tails. The first one is rather graphic but brings the issue home to me. People want to sugar coat the truth to make themselves feel better about what is in my opinion (and please no offense to anyone) a barbaric practice. This illustrates the reality which is that people are in fact cutting pieces off their dogs. Just because the animals can't communicate their pain, doesn't mean they aren't feeling it. I only hope that this country wakes up and joins other countries in outlawing this practice.

I think people sugar coat alot of things...other that just tail docking...to make themselves feel better about various things. All part of the game called Life. :)

The saddest part of all is most people only do this because the so-called "standard" requires this. Many on here have said they wouldn't even do it if it weren't for the "standard". My question is who created this "standard"? I guess I always thought it was God but I guess I was wrong. Apparently, we as human beings have more knowledge as to how animals should look than Him.

IMO, humans have had so much impact on what God created that the idea that docking is altering the Earth's harmonial balance is quite comical to me.

No one said anything about "altering Earth's harmonial balance", I was merely referring to respecting an animal's right to remain as nature intended. True, we were given dominance over the animals but I am quite sure that mutilation wasn't part of the deal.

So are they! They don't know a dog that wasn't free, stray or $20 bucks...not that there is anything wrong with that, but the idea of paying for a dog to them is absurd. Sounds like hubby doesn't have much patience for his fam either!! LOL They sound like a bunch of characters!! :D
