Purebred and partly White?? Has anyone ever heard of a purebred Yorkie puppy with white on them? I know people have posted in the last few days about a white spot on their tummy, but what about their muzzle? I don't plan on getting a Yorkie from this breeder, but I was looking at her puppies just because I wanted to and some have white all over them. They aren't Biewers, they're Yorkies! On the site, the breeder says the white will go away and is already starting to, but there's a lot of white. I've never seen this before except on a mix puppy or a Biewer! Sorry if the pictures are big! http://www.countrytimekennel.com/pen...op_800x533.jpg http://www.countrytimekennel.com/spi...op_800x713.jpg http://www.countrytimekennel.com/2_girls_2_2_weeks.jpg Parents: http://www.countrytimekennel.com/kandac.jpg http://www.countrytimekennel.com/richy.jpg I was just curious! |
I don't know about the white, but who cares!!! Your baby is precious! Thanks for sharing the pictures! :p |
pure white yorkie??? Hey, I saw this little one yesterday and wondered if it was a pure breed. You have to scroll all the way to the right, then down, last pup on page. You wont miss her, name is opal, and is all white! http://www.divapup.com/puppiesy.asp and the price...oh my! |
Not mine Those pups aren't mine. They are a breeders. I just wanted to know if the white was normal because I came across the breeder on a website. My puppy is the picture in my avatar! Isn't he cute! |
Oh my! Quote:
White Yorkie http://www.divapup.com/Opala.jpg "Opal Rare Female White Yorkie Will look exactly like a white yorkie Ears will stand 12/6/04 $3250" WOW! |
I wouldn't trust anyone advertising a white Yorkie and charging so much! One of the other ones was advertised as a "blond yorkie" and turns out the father was a maltese. So she wants a couple thousand $$ for a puppy that isn't registerable! I wonder if the white one is really a maltese? Anyway, they don't sound scrupulous to me........ :thumbdown |
I thought it was very suspisious, that is why I posted it. It is a cute pup but doesnt look purebred. Maybe I am wrong. But I have never seen another "white yorkie" what people will do to make a buck! |
Definitely a Maltese That puppy really does look part maltese. Maybe you're right, maybe one of the parents was a maltese! Compare her picture to a baby Maltese: Opal the "White Yorkie" http://www.divapup.com/Opala.jpg Maltese Puppy http://secure.terrificpets.com/image...0560212405.jpg Their hair texture and length is different, but they definitely have similarities! |
Must be a mix with Maltese... I noticed one on there advertised as a male yorkie and it had a maltese dam.. I think this is a broker. |
That 'white yorkie' looks like a maltese to me. |
that looks like a pure breed maltese about 4 -5montshs old whos know i hope know one falls for this lie |
3 Attachment(s) I have a purebred parti-colored yorkie who is gold and white. Her picture is in my album. Both of her parents are AKC and carry the recessive genes for the gold and white. In the olden days these puppies were put to death just because they were not within the breed standard, but the fact is that the yorkshire terrier developed in the 1800s from many different kinds and colors of terriers so these "exotic" colors pop up every once in a while. They cannot be shown but they can be registered AKC if their parents are AKC. There are chocolates, parti-colored and others. You do want to see both parents and the papers on both if they are registered in order to confirm what the breeder is saying. I also heard, but could never find any evidence to support the contention, that the exotic colored yorkies may have more health problems. I think this was just an ecuse used by the breeders who "culled" these puppies in the past. My "breed standard" color puppy has a little bit of white on him in small areas as well. Not as much as the puppy you have the pics of though. The Biewer terrier was developed from a breeder in Germany realizing the beauty of these anomalies and deciding, rather than killing the puppies, to breed FOR the coloring. Biewers are not Yorkshire Terriers and are not yet recognized by AKC but they came from the yorkie and they have their own registration now and are shown under that registration. IMHO it really doesn't matter if a puppy is registerable or not if it is not to be bred or shown but is just for a pet. The price has to be determined by the demand as with any other commodity. If the puppy is absolutely adorable and healthy a lot of people will pay for that "cuteness" and not care about the registration. I went ahead and attached pics of my puppy and her parents! I think there are adorable puppies out there in everyone's price range which makes owning a little piece of "love" affordable for everyone! |
on that same website www.divapup.com if you look at the maltese pups at the bottom the have opal again and opie, a male white yorkie. But if you look at the others it definatly looks like a maltese.. my goodness, some one is going to get taken on that you just know it! |
I called Diva Pups to inquire about "Opal" but they were closed. I left my email address and asked if she was purebred or what so if they send me an answer I will post here tomorrow. |
Inquiry I sent a puppy inquiry to the site. I asked if she was purebred, registered, to see pictures of her parents, etc. I'll post whatever they send me. I am almost positive this breeder is a broker because if you go to the website, there is a bar on the side to pick what type of dog you are looking for and there are 27 different breeds of dogs plus mixed breeds, "special price pups", and rescued pups. This is insane! |

Regarding colors of Yorkies! I am purchasing my first Yorkie in a few weeks. A precious little girl! Her name is going to be Maggie. My question for you knowledgable Yorkie owners........ Maggie's Mom is blue/black, tan, and silver. The sire is almost all tan with a bit of silver. No black! I definitely want my Maggie to LOOK like a Yorkie in her coloring! What are the chances that she will look like her Daddy??? Anyone have any ideas? |
what do you guys think of divapup i saw a puppy i like on there has anyone had any bad experiences im sorry if someone posted it before i just done remember so what ya think ???? |
diva pup Some interesting posts about Diva Pup: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...15&postcount=3 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...light=diva+pup Looks like a broker to me |
I have never purchased a dog from DivaPups but they are a broker and they state that on the site. I do not know how well they screen their breeders, to eliminate "puppy millers", but I have called a couple of times to inquire about a specific puppy and either I didn't the answers I was looking for, or I just did't find what I was looking for. They will let you talk directly with the breeder in most cases and they will send you pictures if you ask. I was troubled that they never asked me what type of home I could provide. I have also seen puppies advertised on Puppyfind by the breeder directly that are also on DivaPups, and the price was different in several instances, usually cheaper in the breeder's ad or on their website.I am sure DivaPups marks them up and takes a percentage when they use their website to market the puppy. That's how business works. Advertising is not free. I cannot recommend DivaPups because I do not know enough about them, but if you are considering getting a puppy from them, I would ask all the right questions and a lot of them, and even speak to the puppy's vet. This I would recommend no matter what breeder you are dealing with. Good luck in your search to find your new family member! |
thanks will not be shipping esp. since there so close to me i want to see the pup before i bring it home anybody else have rock solid info ?? |

i couldnt look at the site it has virusis my brother put a program in the comp. where i cant get viruses!! can you post the complaint cause if there about someone buying a teacup i dont wanna hear that its there own fault if somethings wrong this is my own opinion never mind went to google heres one Divapup - I purchased a maltese puppy on 1/24/04 from Divapup. The contract that I signed stated that this puppy was AKC and that I would receive the papers within 6 months for a cost of $1950.00 Diva Pup Puppy Breeder/Broker I purchased a maltese puppy on 1/24/04 from Divapup. The contract that I signed stated that this puppy was AKC and that I would receive the papers within 6 months for a cost of $1950.00. As of this date and after MANY frustrating telephone calls, I have nothing. Also, my friends purchased a bichon puppy on 7/26/03 for $1200.00, signing the same type of contract. They have not recieved their papers as well. If you wish to purchase a puppy from this inviting website, BE WARNED! You will fall in love with your puppy but no way to prove their heritage and therefore cannot breed the dog. Georgia D |
thats the only one i could find |
Opal Response The people from Divapups e-mailed me back about Opal: "Opal is still available and is 3/4 maltese and 1/4 yorkie. Her one parent is AKC but the 1/2 yorkie and 1/2 maltese mother is not registered. I can get pics of the parents if you are indeed interested. Elizabeth www.divapup.com www.divashop.com 1-800-209-5174 973-618-0030" Shes not even purebred! |

It's an interesting subject obviously because a new thread was just started by someone interested in purchasing a "morkie" or a "yorktease" and she has a breeder who does it on purpose because the puppies are so adorable and she posted pics. This woman loves the colors but can't afford a Biewer. I think this is a nice alternative for someone who wants an adorable puppy and doesn't care if it's purebred or not. All the pictures I have seen are adorable. |
That would be me! LOL |
At one point I was considering buying a Yorktese and while trying to find as much as I could about them I came across the Divapup site. Very cute puppies but then I also found the complaint websites. This was about 9 months ago. I don't remember anything horrible like puppies dying but it was enough that I decided to keep looking. I remember people calling it a puppymill and one person complaining there pup ended up being much larger than they were told it would be. This is just what these people were writing. I have no idea if it is true but I would be careful. |
pups JMO..JMO...when it comes to parti's or biewers, I would only buy from Germans. Too many USA breeders are mixing breeds to get "rare" colors..and asking insane prices. |
