| How old can a stud be? I have a friend that is purchasing a puppy. She feels that the father being shown may not be the actual father, mainly because of his age (10 years). Can a stud still be a stud at 10? I told her I didn't know, but knew where to get the answer - so what do you think YT members??? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I sure don't have a REAL answer... but most men think they're studs even when they aren't anymore so why would a male yorkie be any different ? |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | AKC will still accept litters sired/mothered by 10 year olds. It doesn't seem bad for a 10 year old stud but I'd hate to think that a female would be bred at 10 years of age.

| I was just curious so I went to akc.org and checked it out. Males have to be between 7 mo and 12 Years. Females 8 mo and 12 years. However, that doesn't mean that a dog will only preform in between those quide lines. Some dogs can go longer some shorter.
