| Favourite moments Maybe a dumb thread, but oh well. Long day, feeling under the weather so I've turned to what I consider the comfort food for my soul and it's the first time I've done it since I've had sheila. Well not the 1st, but the 1st time without my girlfriend being over. I just came home closed the curtains, lite a few candles, put some Leonard Cohen songs on (I have it all) grabed a glass of Pinot Noir and put Sheila on my lap and just held her. Talk about letting the stress of the day just melt away.... It's almost as if she knew daddy just needed some downtime and snuggles. For those that don't know Leonard Cohen he has made some of the most beautiful thought provoking songs ever written. Here is a sample of his lyrics. Everybody knows that the dice are loaded Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed Everybody knows that the war is over Everybody knows the good guys lost Everybody knows the fight was fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows that the boat is leaking Everybody knows that the captain lied Everybody got this broken feeling Like their father or their dog just died Everybody talking to their pockets Everybody wants a box of chocolates And a long stem rose Everybody knows Everybody knows that you love me baby Everybody knows that you really do Everybody knows that you've been faithful Ah give or take a night or two Everybody knows you've been discreet But there were so many people you just had to meet Without your clothes And everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows And everybody knows that it's now or never Everybody knows that it's me or you And everybody knows that you live forever Ah when you've done a line or two Everybody knows the deal is rotten Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton For your ribbons and bows And everybody knows And everybody knows that the Plague is coming Everybody knows that it's moving fast Everybody knows that the naked man and woman Are just a shining artifact of the past Everybody knows the scene is dead But there's gonna be a meter on your bed That will disclose What everybody knows And everybody knows that you're in trouble Everybody knows what you've been through From the bloody cross on top of Calvary To the beach of Malibu Everybody knows it's coming apart Take one last look at this Sacred Heart Before it blows And everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Oh everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows Last edited by Harbinger; 03-29-2005 at 05:21 PM. |

| Isn't it so great that we attach ourselves to our Yorkie's when we don't feel too great? I have those nights also Harbinger, I am guessing we all do! Thanks for sharing.

| Oh, I've done that plenty of times, coming home after dealing with the horrid Seattle traffic, Yoda comes up to greet me so warmly, and I just scoop him up and sit or lay on the couch with him and either hold him or take a quick nap together. It's so sweet to have a Yorkie in your life. |

| I think it's a great thread And yeah, I have to say on my bad days, curling up with my (fur)babies on the couch after everyone goes to bed, with a good book and good music is one of my favorite things in the world. They just know when you need to cuddle

| We are all so different, yet so much alike!! Definitely our fave! The amazing thing about Toto is that she "knows". How do they do that?? Patrick comes home from an exhausting day at the office ... Toto joyfully meets him at the door ... he scoops her up as he heads for his recliner and all I hear is a soft sigh [from Toto as she settles in on his chest] and a loud sigh from Patrick!!! I finish dinner ... we eat and share our day .... then all relax! Is it "routine" or "rut"!!

| It definitely is great to have these little guys (and gals) in our lives. They know exactly how to pick us up, without doing anything half the time. They are just a joy to be around.

| [QUOTE=bettyeanne]The amazing thing about Toto is that she "knows". How do they do that??QUOTE] I know exactly what you mean! Lucy seems to know when I need a hug. I get home from uni and she is always waiting for me at the door just waiting for her kisses! I recently fainted and landed on my face- broke my nose, massive bruising and swelling etc and for the whole time i was ill she didn't leave my side, it was as if she knew I wasn't well and wanted to protect me! I love my Lucy!! |
