I don't think anyone has been bashed here (at least not personally). If we start a controversial thread - or if we even post our opinions on these threads - we are going to get a lot of responses back that just flat out don't agree with us. BabyFiggette seems to be on one side of this issue with a lot of people agreeing with her - I hold the opposite opinion and a lot of people feel as I do. Please - when threads get this long - we can't expect people to read every word. I have noticed a few responders misinterpreting a few statements I made also. At this point, I would expect this. People should feel free to disagree with one another - and will occasionally misinterpret what others have said. This happens - especially on such long threads. It has been interesting hearing everyone's thoughts on this issue. And, I would suspect that in the end, many of us are not 100% on one side or 100% on the other. I have actually found myself becoming less stringent on this issue, in some ways, because of the things that many of you have said. I admit there are emergencies, and times when we have to take our puppys in a public building with us. And, I have learned from some of you that a lot of businesses don't care if you bring your puppy in with you. It's been interesting!!! I hope no one really feels offended. This is a public forum - made up of a lot of different people with a lot of different ideas. We all love our little Yorkies (and other pets) and are here to share experiences, ideas, and opinions. I, for one, occasionally modify or change my opinion on an issue because of what some of the rest of you say here on YT. W have a lot of intelligent and good people here - and everyone's opinion counts! Carol Jean |
question would any of you visit a pet boutique that carried all the little stuff we enjoy so much, clothing, leads, bows, bags, baked goods, all of these things set up in a way that you can come in and sit and talk with other pet owners, maybe have some coffe and a baked pet treat. basically, just hang out with your pet in a cozy atmosphere. kinda like most pet boutiques but a little different. just wondering, i have seen a few boutiques but especially here not many, one within 100 miles. i am thinking of doing something like this, with a little twist on it.....thoughts would be helpful. |

I would think a business like this would flourish and be exceptional! I know if we had one like you are talking about in my area Id visit all the time. (And go broke, LOL) |

This was my first post on this thread "Just my little two cents....service dogs are not just seeing eye dogs. and I'm sure you all know that but just wanted to say it. I am in the process of moose becoming a service dog for me, but my problem is not a seen disablity and I have been warned by other service dog owners to be ready to justify. Most people only think seeing eye dogs and that's it no other type. We are having issues in north florida from businesses saying no to service dogs that are not seeing eye dogs, so I always like to make it known that there is a broad spectrum of service animals. " |
Oh, I forgot I will contact the ones that were interested in how Moose's service dog training is going by PM. Michelle |

To be perfectly honest (and I hope this doesn't sound mean, b/c it's not meant to be) I really don't care who's on my side. I don't need people to be on my side to feel secure in my opinions. And another thing is that people should really read a person's post in depth before they start agreeing or disagreeing so things don't get misinterpreted. I don't agree that it's "okay" to misinterpret b/c the thread is long. A person should not reply to something w/o reading something fully. I read your post twice to make sure I didn't miss anything. :) I still hold to my belief that some people want to start controversy. Believe me, I don't...but if someone tries to make me feel wrong for stating an opinion, I get on the defensive side...as I do in real life. I am so opened to hear everyone's side and appreciate it. But when people don't appreciate mine it get's annoying. I think some people feel that it's okay to be mean on purpose because we don't know each other. I don't feel that way. Oh, and as you said you feel like you are less stringent, I feel that way too. It's called reading and learning from other's posts. And I am thankful for YT for allowing me the opportunity to learn more. |
BabyFidgette - QUOTING YOU -- To be perfectly honest (and I hope this doesn't sound mean, b/c it's not meant to be) I really don't care who's on my side. I don't need people to be on my side to feel secure in my opinions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I totally agree with you. Everyone has the right to voice their own opinion - and to have their opinion in the first place. And -- we all tend to try and change other people's opinions when they don't agree with us. This is just human nature - and is very okay. We never need to be rude - what we need are good arguments to support our own opinions. And the good sense to know that differences of opinion will going to continue to exist. Good luck! Carol Jean |
