| Help with Food again !! Hi I am having so much trouble with food. I have been thu so many kinds. Euckanuba Zoey got upset stomach with. Then we went to Science Diet small bites and she liked it but I found out how much fillers are in it and decided to switch to Innova. I have been mixing the 2 and she only picks out the Science diet. Yesterday I stopped the Science Diet and she ate some Innova but I am worried she isn;t eating enough. She is 15 weeks and about 1.5 lbs. Some say she'll finally eat when hungrey, but is that good for her. I was putting food out 3 times a day now I have been leaving it out. I think the Innova is too big , even tho I break in half (what fun that is). I don't know what to do. I was thinking of trying Royal Canin for Yorkies don;t know if that is in puppy and are the pieces small ??? Can anyone help I am going crazy with the food thing !!! Is Royal Canin good ? Do I leave her on the Science Diet ? Is it really that bad ?? Thanks

| Royal Canine has a Developmental formual for puppies. I never got to use it but I do feed Jake RC Yorkshire. The kibble is small and he seem to love it. Can't keep the cat out of it either. |

| the royal canin yorkie formula is for adult yorkies and the kibbles are kinda big too if you think the innova kibbles are big. if you switch to RC you should get the puppy 33 formula. the kibbles are really small for that one. but imho, RC is just "okay food". i'm actually switching my puppy off RC to innova puppy. if you want to stick with innova, try the Innova EVO. the kibble sizes on those are much smaller than the regular innova puppy and adult kibbles. Nutro's Ultra puppy formula also has pretty small kibbles. it's a little bigger than RC kibbles but not by much. |

| My Tiger has finished a whole big bag of Innova and then suddenly he did not want them anymore . . . just right after I bought another hug bag . . . . could it be that he is bored with the same of old day after day after day food . . . so what I did was make it "ala Gourmet" kind and what dya know! He devours every bit of it in a flash! So I wonder if your furbaby is just a tidbit picky but if you add more flavor to any of the kibble you have Zoey might just love it. What I do is mix Innova puppy food and Innova health bar (crumbled) and add a little bit of water to moisten it so the kibbles are a tid bit wet. This helps soften them as well. Then I add a teaspoon of cottage cheese and crumbled dried 100% preservative free freeze dried liver (purchased at Costo). The beef liver coats all the kibbles and health bar. For lunch I do the same but ommit the cottage cheese. Instead I add small cuts of mangoes (as he loves it). For dinner, again, no cottage cheese, no health bar either, instead I add a few kibbles of the Innova EVO and mash a little bit of banana or peas. So he always gets excited for his meals now . . . . I try to get creative and mix and match so he does not always get the same kind. If you know Zoey has a favorite treat, mix that in with his meals . . . . hope this works! |

| Ok so from what I see RC is just an ok food...so maybe I should hang in there with the Innova for a lil longer. I thought the Evo has too much protein for a lil one ?? Should I go back to Science Diet or try to stick it out ?

| If I remember right, the Innova regular comes in "small bites" also. You may want to try that if the only problem is the size of the bites.

| When I first started feeding my dogs Innova.. they did not want to eat it! i would wet it so it could be a little bit more appealing, but to no avail.. I was going to give up.. but didn't! They started eating it when they were hungry.. they won't starve themselves.. it just takes getting used to is all. If you are worried the bites are to big, you can also give the Innova EVO. That is what i've been feeding for a year and a few months now and wouldn't change it for anything else. don't give up on Innova, it produces great results and you get the best bang for your buck. |

| Nutro Holistic Puppy Food Nutro has now come out with an Holistic puppy food...it's smaller than a grain of rice and Chloe' loves it! Never had a problem with her eating and the vet says that whatever I'm feeding them is great because their coats are beautiful! Like I said it's smaller than a grain of rice and goes up with their age...I usually moisten it to make them a tad bit easier to eat...also remember that they are still teething and could possibly be sore in their mouths...if you can moisten their food with either water or their favorite treat then this could help! ~Tracy |

He will be 5 months on 3/1. It is also possible that he is teething that is why he is ignoring the Innova puppy food but when softened he seemed to really love it . . . .whatever it is I am doing, I guess it is working!

I don't know much about Science Diet but have read (on another thread) that they are not as good! I just know that Innova is really a great dog food and after looking at the ingredients, I am very happy . . .

| I agreed that they won't starve. I think you should try it a little longer. Also is she is pooping then she is eating some. I heard about Evo having too much protein also. I dont feed Gucci Innova, but I heard is a very good food. I feed Gucci Canidae and so far that food has work for us. I do think they get bored of the same food all the time, so I add Innova wet or Merrick wet to her dry kibble(Canidae) once in awhile. |
