| First Post Hi Everyone, My name is Thumbalina and this is my first post. My Yorkie is named Toby. He is so sweet and adorable. Toby is one year old and shortly after he was born, (about 3 months) I was told he had what was called " Liver Shunt." He is on a special diet, low protein, and takes an antibiotic twice a day. Becsuse if this genitic disorder, he is only three pounds. He is doing quite well on the diet and seems like a normal dog now. It's nice to meet you all and I am also hoping to meet others who are familier with this disorder. Thanks, Thumbalina |

| Welcome. You will enjoy this site. I'm Judy, mom of Chloe and Lacey. Haven't been on much lately, lost my husband in Dec., so it's been a little difficult lately. I know you will learn so much here, not to mention the kind and caring people on yorkietalk. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome!!! This is a great site! Cali is 8 months old and has had 2 bile acid tests. The first one came back at 0/90 and the second at 0/32 the ultrasound said the liver looked Ok but when I get her spayed they are going to do a liver biopsy to check for MVD and Liver shunt. The surgeon said that sometimes with the lower high scores it 's MVD. I just have to make the call to get her surgery and I have been stalling. Can I ask what Toby's symptoms were and how you get him to eat a low protein diet. Cali is the pickiest eater. Thanks

| I am sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. I'll bet that Cloe and Lacey give you a lot of comfort though...don't they. Toby and I live alone and he is so much company for me. Thank you for the welcome. Thumbalina |
