I agree with Yorkie Rose in that white in some of our lines indicates to us good coat growth..In over half of the pics of my newborns I see white somewhere onthe chest and feet and occasionally the head. Any area that is gonna change to tan or gold will usually blend right in and you never see the white.. A white toenail or two may also be seen if white is in the puppy's foot but I have seen that change too..
I had a friend from Australia who would always say "It matters not a twit the looks as long as you love your dog!"

75% of my puppies have had a chest patch or toes or both.
My male had a very large spot on his chest at 7 weeks and now at 15 months old, it remains as two or so hairs and boy do you have to dig for where it was at one time.
I dont know if its true but I heard its due to the mixture of past breeds years and years ago in making the yorkie as it is today.

Thanks for all of your imput. I looked at my puppies toenails and they are brown. is this normal for 1 week old puppies? or are they supposed to be black?

This thread has been very helpful and informative! Some of my ten day old pups have a little white on the chest and a couple have white on the very very tips of their toes fur. Haven't checked the nails yet. I'm trying to find the time to take some new pictures to post!
