| Oliver hit his head... blood and bump! I was brushing Oliver tonight and I noticed a little clott of blood on his head. As I was washing it away I felt a small bumo underneath (like a swollon, human, bruise) He had hit his head yesterday-- he was doing the crazy yorkie running around in huge circles thing and ran underneath the bed and bumped his head on the metal frame!!! I was wondering if puppies were like humans and might get a bad bruise that would swell. I'm really worried about him, now. Has anything like this happened to anyone?

| Bugaboo used to hit his head all the time when he was a puppy.Call your vet in the morning. but if he seems to be okay, just keep an eye on him.

| Maddie has hit her head plenty of times while being wild and crazy, but I've not noticed a bump or swelling, but maybe I missed it. If your little guy is acting normal, I'm sure he should be okay, but if you notice him acting strange or different than usual, it wouldn't hurt to have him checked by a vet!

| I always wonder if they get a headache like we hoomans do..I have a BIRO that came from Germany the week of Christmas and he is way too big to use for breeding but he is the funniest boy. He is so much bigger than the others and they run under things and he baps! right into them..Good thing he is a hard headed German...LOL |

| Oh I would take him to the vet just for piece of mind. Last night Brutus was running around the house at full speed and banged right into the coffee table. He let a big cry and scared me to death! I checked him and he's okay but jeez they can really make you freak out!

| It could be something else besides a bump... Definitely take him in. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

| I think a call to the vet, or maybe even a trip there would be good now. He may have a little infection where he bumbed it. You just never know with these little ones.

| Aw you guys are so sweet!!! By the time I started really getting worried last night it was too late (and too far) to take him anywhere! I just got home from school and the swelling (it is only about the size of a pea) has gone down and the scab is definately healing like a human scab (first a little bloody then it was a little moist and now it is dry and a scab color)--- I'm such a worry wart- I feel reallly horrible lately and i HATE to admit it because i feel like i'm a bad momma BUT i don't have a vet here intown- i was taking him to the vet in my hometown (college student) for all his shots and stuff because that is where my brothers' bichon goes and we trust him- So the earliest I can get in to see a vet is not until this weekend and I'm wondering what I should do?! I know I need a vet here in town but they want to charge for an exam that I already h ad at the vet in my hometown. I knnow it's all procedure but I just feel overwhelmed with different doctors/training/etc. And now something little like this-that could be big- has got me all worried and panicky because i haven't found a good vet in town yet.
