| Food you shouldn't feed your yorkies I just bought two yorkshire terrier books at Japanese book store. They were talking about food that we cannot feed to our yorkies. Of course, there was chocolate on the list.. Then... Fish Bone, Squid, Octopus.... I just thought it was kinda funny... something that Japanese people often have on their dinner table!! I also thought... it would be good for everyone to list things that dogs shouldn't eat.... it will be helpful!

| I've given Baby Calamari. She didn't have a negative effect.

| I think the fish bones are more of a choking hazard than anything.... Pixie will often share my sushi with me. But I never get squid or octopus. I generally stick with the different fish varieties, shrimp & crab. Mmmmmm, sushi..... |

| I decided to line up the stuff that is listed on the book. (it's in Japanese.. so I am not the best translator.) 1. Onion - if dogs eat a lot of onions.. they could have blood in their urine, get diarrhea, or/and throw up. 2. Shrimp, Octopus, Squid, and Crab - hard to digest and dogs might throw up. 3. Fish that contains a lot of Fat - hard to digest. 4. Fish bone, Chicken Bone - it could hurt. 5. Black pepper, red pepper - no good for stomach.... too strong.. for stomach.. 6. Salt (a little bit is okay but not too much)... Sugar - Dogs can become overweight From 7, it doesn't say the reasons... but here they are. 7. Bacon (my guess: because of fat.) 8. Wasabi (my guess: because it is way too spicy!) 9. Cake (my guess: because it is way too sweet for dogs) 10. Penuts...(my guess: Dogs might get chocked? high colestrol?) 11. Chocolate.. ( of course!!! ) 12. Shiitake Mushroom.. (not sure why..) 13. ham (my guess: too much fat to digest?) I think I would stick with dog food and cheerios..maybe sometimes some other treats!
