I am on vacation Folks, I will be in Vermont from tomorrow through March 8th, so if I don't get right back to you, that's why. We always have a computer with us, but anytime we go home, our computer time is very limited due to being dragged from pillar to post with activity!! Have a great week!! I am off the weekend of the 15th, that's why I said it was best for me...I work every other weekend, all three days and it is really hard to get off once the schedule is posted. We get our schedules 6 weeks at a time. I just need to know asap if we are changing it as they are now working on that schedule so maybe I can get off. Thanks. |

I say just go for the 8th. It really doesn't matter to me b/c I can come about any weekend but let's just make it simple. Although it would be ideal to find a date where everone can attend but that's just impossible. Anyone who cannont go to this one then can come to the next. Maybe we should just try to do it a few different times through the summer so at some point the everone can at least attend one.... JMO If it comes down to picking a date and you don't want to choose b/c of maybe hurting someone's feeling then just flip a coin. Sounds goofy but it works. Crystal |

OK, April 8th it is! I just checked with the park and changed the date to the 8th!! YT Yorkie Meetup April 8th in Country Park, Greensboro from 11 to 3! There will be other Yorkies there too from around the area, and we can all tell them how wonderful YT is and get them signed up! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!! |
Updates on MeetUp Tomorrow evening I will be going to Country Park to meet one of the Bark Park organizers and see the Dog Park itself. :dogsm6: I will take pictures and post to this thread. I also received a call from a Greensboro groomer who will come to the park on that day and be available for questions about grooming. She is also going to put a poster up in her office to talk about the MeetUp and see if any of her Yorkie friends want to go. Bark Park 4 Attachment(s) Here's some Bark Park photos! I went out to see the park tonight, and Wosie loved it! There were no other small dogs there as it was getting dark, so she had the enclosure all to herself. The only way she would let me catch her after having her freedom like that was to get her in the airlock, lol! :D :doghop: Here are som photos of the park. More to follow. |
More pictures. 4 Attachment(s) Sorry the pics are blurry. I had the setting to night photo as it was so dark, and I really should have been using a tripod. One of these photos is the "air lock" double gate system so that you can secure your pup before leaving the enclosure. Pretty cool! I just love the combo human/dog water fountain! :D And here's Wosie exploring! |
Oh My Goodness!! You guys, this is so cool!! I told you that the dog park had listed our event on their site, yes? I just got off the phone with a lady who has a doggie day care in Greensboro, and she owns a yorkie and knows a ton of people who own yorkies! So she is calling all her yorkie buddies, too! Oh my goodness, we are going to have a YORKIE FESTIVAL!!! YIPPEE!! Did you also know there are two Yorkie Rescue groups in Greensboro? She has fostered for them before, and will be calling them as well to come exercise their dogs with us! Oh this is going to be cute cute cute!!! :p I can't WAIT!!! This morning I am going to hit up some pet goods stores and groomers for donations towards prizes, and I am taking Wosie with me. Should be FUN!! :D |

Well, it's not easy soliciting donations, is it? I tried to get the two local Petsmarts to donate prizes, and no go. I had to contact corporate, so we will see how that goes. I'll let you know! I think I will be able to get something from Dreama's groomer, her former owner Crissy, and I am pretty sure I can get something from my vet, (other than Greenies which he STILL sells in his office!! :eek: ) I'll keep trying other places too. I am betting smaller stores will give. :p |
