| I think I read that they might not if you get them neutered before they start lifting their leg. I am hoping thats the way it is at least.

| Carter began lifting his leg on occassion outdoors the week before he was neutered . . . at 32 weeks. He hasn't lifted his leg inside and only does it outside occassionally.

| Bailey's 12 weeks and I've noticed him the past few days lifting his leg... I just started another thread on that... My other dog didn't start lifting his leg until he was 6 months old! |

| Sully started lifting his leg about 2 weeks before we got him neutered. I laughed - he thought he was a big dog marking his territory everywhere, haha. He still does this, though I thought having him neutered would stop it (I was wrong.) But yeah, he started at about 5 1/2 months.

| Well maybe I will get lucky and he wont start! My breeder doesnt want him to be neuterd until he is 8 months so I still have a while to go until then, I'll just have to wait and see! Thanks for letting me know about your dogs!

| its ok to neuter your puppies at 6 months but make sure your vet only uses gas during the operation, at that same time have any baby teeth, bad or double removed. This is much better doing it all at once than to put him under twice. If there is another male in the house usually the puppy will lift his leg earlier mimicking the other male if not usually around 6 month will begin the spraying problem. hope this helps

| Cocoa is now 14 weeks. He started lifting his legs about a week and a half ago. He still squats most of the time and lifts his lef very occasionally though. It's very random for now, and I kinda hope that it's going to stay that way. We have no idea what prompted him though, especially when he's the only dog in our house. I guess sometimes they just start doing it on their own... |

| Simon is a year and a half and he has never lifted his leg. He is neutered and pee pad trained. I'm not sure why he just never has. |

| the only reason my breeder told me to wait until he is eight months is because she said by then he will be done teething and if he has any baby teeth left in then they can do it all at once instead of having to put him under twice, she said they usually have all there adult teeth by 8 months. I do have another male dog, but they dont go outside together, I walk Snickers seperatley. I hope I get lucky and he never learns to lift his leg!

| still no.... Mason is going on 9 months and still squats....and he is not yet neutered. Very rarely, he would lift his left leg slightly off the floor, like 2 inches when he pees. Is that considered lifting his leg??? Probably not |
