| OMG..1,2 or 3...HELP! Hi all, We have one yorkie male now his name is Max, he is just over 5 months old....well we have decided to get a second male and have gone back to the same breeder. As it happens we have selected a male who is now 8 weeks and will be coming home within a week or so....his name will be Otis. They have the same father different moms....anyway one of the reasons we picked these two is because they were small puppies...Max is about 3.5 lbs now....well when we went a few weeks ago to pick number 2 she still had one left form the litter that was 10 days older than our Max.....he is a big boy....probably 7 lbs maybe more......well we went to visit Otis tonight and "Roly" was still there....we are worried he will be hard to place and he is soooo sweet. He is a big boy but has a lot of personality. So we are thinking about getting him too Max is my sons dog and Otis will be my daughters and she has her heart set on a little puppy, but Roly could be mine?...... So dear friends please help with some voices of reason....we are self employed and my wife is home the better part of the day but....a under 2 lb puppy a 3.5 lber and a big boy all together....I think we may need our head examined...... She is willing to give us a nice discount on the big guy, but my common sense says 2 is plenty......what are your thoughts? THANKS |

| I don't blame you, I'd take the other puppy in a second! I just got Tia a month or so ago, and we're already planning for our next dog in a couple of years. I'd say if you have the money and time, the more the merrier!

| Roly Two may be enough for some, but I think 4 is the perfect number, although there really isn't any difference in 4 and 6. And once you have 6, a few more barely count! LOL that is the way I see it, as long as you can afford vet care and have time for grooming...there is always enough love to go around. |

| I think you should get him! My breeder has a boy left over from a previous litter and if I could convince my husband I would go pick him up today! Unfortunatly, my husband is tough to convince. Mari

| I would say " If you can afford all three, get them all". Maybe the big boy was meant for you and that is why he is still there. I just got my dog back in December and i am already thinking of #2. Maybe the new slogan for yorkies should be "Betcha can't have just 1". So i would say go for it!!!

| There is no way in the world you can ever have too many Yorkies IF, AND THAT IS A HUGE IF, you can afford every aspect of their care. That means time, emotions and finances. These babies are expensive to maintain. And, please don't liissen to YorkieRose--she ruined me,,LOL She has been my mentor for several years and over the years, she has totally and unconditionally corrupted me!!! Would I change my Yorkie world if I could? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!! These babies are my reason for rising and staying upright every day..my back sez back to bed but my babies say "Mommie, we want you!" and thank God they win. Bottom line is, if you have the money to take care of another Yorkie, the love and care are already there, just waiting to be discovered. You go for that baby!!![SIZE=2][COLOR=Blue] |

| Why Not? I agree with everyone else....If you can? Why not they are small dogs, the more the merrier! I wouldn't be too concerned about their sizes, some times the bigger ones grow all at once, and some times the smaller ones get growth spurts you never know. I purchased mine at 20 weeks old, he wasn't left over from a litter. My Breeder purchased him from another Breeder to breed with one of her 3 main females, all of which were so called "Teacups" she got him at 7 weeks after 2 months realized that he grew to 4.5 pounds which was too large for her purposes. She predicted that he wouldn't get over 5 pounds, well he's 6 pounds the last time my Vet. weighed him in January, he's got an appointment on April 15th, who knows he may be 8 pounds by now? No matter what size they end up, the Breeders can't be sure. Size doesn't always matter! His personality is what counts, he's the sweetest. Good Luck! |

| gymbo68, if I could add just one thing to the excellent advice you've gotten so far...that bigger fella "spoke" to your heart. There's a reason for that. Go for it!! Good luck, and I'M SO JEALOUS!! I'd have 3 if my hubby would let me! But we have Bo and an old Schnauzer that we dearly love. Maybe some day...
