Hi, and welcome!! I think you can let people hold her...but that's just my opinion. Little kids you might want to be careful. Maybe let them sit on the floor and play. I let Baby be handled by tons of people to get socialization skills. Now she LOVES everybody...even the pizza and chinese food delivery man when they come!!! Good luck!

I didn't like crating Baby for a long period of time b/c puppies can't hold their pee for long periods of time. So, I bought her a plastic Xpen (see pic below). The pic shows a hexagon shape, but I shaped mine into a rectangle. That way I put food, toys, a bed, and a pee pee pad down on the opposite side. It's like her own little play area. Now she's too big and climbs out of it, but it sure did work when she was smaller! They have it at petsmart.com. It's only $64.99...I paid $89.99. Have fun! Your wife will be thrilled!

Human baby playpens work great too!! I kep one beside my bed with a wee wee pad, a bed, food and water and a few toys. That way I got my sleep. If the puppy whined i just put my arm and petted her until she quieted down again. Works great.

I would be very very careful with who you let hold the puppy and they have to be trained first. These are wiggly little guys and a fall from even a short distance is devastating.

if you keep her in the crate at night you need to take her to go potty once before you put her in before you go to bed, then get up at least once in the middle of the night to take her out, then first thing in the morning take her out to go potty again. they have very small bladders at this age.
I wouldn't bombard her with people just yet, it can get very stressful for her to be passed around. She also probably hasn't gotten all of her shots yet including rabies, so I wouldn't bring her personally unless I had to, then I wouldn't let too many people around her, esspecially kids. Definately let her get used to home first.

Hello and Welcome. Theres a lot of great info here. I would not let people handle the baby. hands carry to many germs. I would wait untill shes older and has all her shots. Congrats on the puppy.
