| Strangest thing... My yorkie loves my hubby and my hubby adores her. When we're all in the house together and he doesn't get out of her sight she is happy-go-lucky. BUT when we get ready for bed (she sleeps with us, of course) if he leaves and comes back she gets all bent out of shape. He can go to the bathroom and come back and she barks, growls , lunges at him, etc... He can literally walk out the door and then back in and she goes mad. Even tho she knows it's him and after she's had time to identify him as a family member and not an intruder she still does it. Once she's thrown her hissy and he's in bed with us she is fine...cuddled up to him like always. He never yells at her, never does anything negative to her in anyway. He's always affectionate and like I said, they get on so well together..she loves him. He works odd hours and she sleeps with him all day long..snuggled up to him. When he comes in from work she gets so excited. It's baffling... Anyone else have this issue??????????? |

| It's maybe because she's so excited to see him. That used to happen to my pups, but not anymore, they just grew out of it. I think this is their way of expressing how much excited they are to see you again.

| Maybe... But it's long after he's home sometimes...getting to be more of a habit than anything I'm afraid. Also.. She's decided she's able to bully the cat...which is a bad thing... the cat is twice her size!!! |

| OH YES!!! Mitzi does it to my partner!! It's her "HOBBY", LOL!! She chases my partner around the bed, on the bed and all around the appartment barking until they are both exhausted. LOL!!!!!! Then they just lay on the bed having cuddles and belly tickles. I just take it "their" game. She doesn't do it with me, I think i'm jealous, lol!! |

| rspears - I wonder if your Yorkie is afraid of men. I would try to get her out and around strangers more. I also wonder if your Yorkie is guarding you in that particular situation. What I would do is have hubbie come back in the room with treat extended every time for a while so that she learns he is not a threat. Please note that I said treat extended every time. This is not the same as let her growl and then offer a treat - THAT would be rewarding the behavior. You want him to offer the treat first!
