| how much water does your yorkie drink? i apologize if this topic has already been discussed. i did a search and didn't find anything. my question is, how much water does your yorkie drink in one day? mine used to drink about 4 ounces a day but now it seems like he is drinking closer to 8 ounces a day. just curious as to what others drink! thanks

| A whole .5 liter water bottle which is like 16oz. He drinks more than the avg Yorkie, love his water, ice cubes, whatever. They should drink 1-1.5 oz per pound of body weight per day. (He's 9 lbs) Does that help? If it's more, you should see the vet. We did and Loki turned out to be fine (just loves water) and we are dealing with it behaviorally. I feel better knowing he's OK!

| Actually Heidi drinks more in the winter due to the fact I think it is that the house is much drier in the winter. In the summer in the hotter weather we always have water available to her and if it is reallly hot I throw an ice cube in it. To answer your question though on average throughout the year she probably drinks about one cupfull per day. her weight is 3.2 pounds. Hope this helps. S/W

| Mitzi drinks quite a bit too. She does tend to run around like a loon for the best part of the day. Thats probably why her head is always in the water. LOL |

| It's hard to say in ounces. Toto loves water and drinks often, but I put down a clean bowl with fresh water periodically throughout the day. I'm not sure about the quantity, but it's an interesting question.

| Laila is quite small, but can put away some water like the best of em! Example - Last night I filled her bowl. She drank and forgot to breath when necessary (does this all the time since she was born, now 13 months) so she gets water up the nose and does this nose hack like a little weezer. Then she drank more to finish the bowl (mind you this is in about 4 minutes) and then walks over to me, burps so loud and spits up a small amount of water. She is a water alcoholic!!! LOL.
