New Yorkie owner, from a breeder that is questionable. So sad.
 

New Yorkie Owner , breeder is questionable, I feel I rescued the puppies more that anything else. :confused:

Not sure I am doing this all correctly, just wanted to tell a little about my babies.....Got them from a outfit in Texas......jeff dane ring a bell with anyone out there. I am just sick about this, my babies are very sick with kennel cough, Coccidia, and no telling what else. I am about to go to the poor house trying to take care of them. I thought I was buying from a person that raised their own babies......little did I know that he is a buyer and seller of who knows what? He is rude and lied to me when I asked his point blank.......' how many females do you have?" He told me over 1200....now I know how he gets that number, he is a puppy mill buyer and has contacts of other back yard breeders that sell their babies to him , in order for him to jack up prices and lie about his experience and breeding practices. He makes out like "he" breeds all the yorkies ,etc......I was a fool to fall for his tricks......I feel so stupid. My babies are sick and I am out a ton of money for vet bills, but like I said, I truly feel that I did rescue these pups and that makes it all a little easier to handle.
The kennel cough for my tiny baby is really tuff on him, and breaks my heart to hear him go through this. Now ,, I am sure my other 2 yorkies will get it too.. I would not do biz with this outfit, except if a person really wants to rescue precious yorkie babies to give them a good loving home.

Thanks Cindi........yes I wish I had come here first. No doubt about that, I have read so many post and found the best info here. I will love my babies through all their medical problems without a doubt......no matter the cost.
I just wish something could be done with this person that is not telling the truth about anything.

I am so sorry that you have been lied to and had such complications with your babies. I am glad to hear that you are such a loving and giving person and it sounds like you are doing everything you can for them. With that said, these creeps running puppy mills prey on uninformed people imo. I think that I was a victim of "buy from a 'friend' of a breeder". You have come to a great place to learn about what to look for and what to aviod concerning breeders/puppy mills ( as well as a plethura of other fab. information). Once again, just hang in there with your sick little yorkies, I'll keep them in my thougths...

Another one got scammed by jeff dane ,my aunt was gonna get a pup from him she lives in texas but she ened up getting a pup from some one else she said the only reason she didnt is because she didnt didnt like the way he presented himself to hershe said there was somthing about him she didnt like and trust .and after telling her about him from other that had problems with him shes glad she went else wheres.

Thanks to you all for your kind words of comfort. These sweet babies are my life. I lost my first one to diabetes in 1999, have a 7 year old that is fine and such a little big man...this is the only dog breed IMO that I would ever own. I just wish that when we as Yorkie lovers fork over thousands of dollars for our babies, that they would all be healty and thrive.....I will do what ever it takes for that to happen for them.
Again, I am new here and so grateful for your reply's to my post. I think jeff dane, monster trucker, needs to be exposed as much as possible. What a joke , and this time it was on me.

I am so sorry you went through all his lies and his manipulation and finally not getting any support or help from him when you found out you little babies were sick.
It is a good thing I do not live in the U.S. because I would have fallen for his puppy mill as well. When I was first searching online for yorkie puppies his site came up first and the puppies were all so cute and adorable. It was a miracle I eventually found YT and realized what a true breeder is all about.

I just hope now your babies regain their health and more people educate themselves so they can distinguish between a reputable breeder and a backyard crook!!!

we are not fans....sorry to hear about your babies and welcome to yt! I would caution against recommending others to go 'rescue' any of his pups, it just puts more money in his pocket, so he can continue the misery.

I am sorry you are going through all that but you are an angel for taking care of those sick pups. Jeff Dane makes me absolutley sick. He is the biggest scam artist there is.

I am so sorry that you got duped. Luckily the puppies have a mom who will spend the money to get them better. Cali had kennel cough for over 3 months after I got her as well as coccidia and has not been very healthy but she was not from that guy. Hopefully the will thrive under your love and care and give you many years of joy!

My heart just about stops everytime I hear negative news about this Jeff Dane guy. It really is disturbing how many people have had such bad dealings with this guy, ugh!

Did you get them all from Jeff Dane and was it recently? This is just terrible news! :( We have never had a YT member who has had difficulties with him before although we have heard ALL of the rumors. You would be the first to confirm the rumors.

Please, if you don't mind.....give us the details so we will know once and for all that the horrible rumors are true...what was his facility like, how much did you pay, what illnesses do your dog have, are you suing him (I am an attorney and would gladly help) , have you reported him, how can we help?

Sorry for so many questions but we have been looking for someone like you for quite some time to give us more than just rumors. :thumbup:

A google search of "Jeff Dane" reveals many such posts to various message boards. I have a hard time believing that the originator of this thread was the only actual victim of Jeff Dane that is a member of YT. Perhaps so. I shudder to think of the countless people that are members of sites like his and have experienced tragedy because they failed to carefully research this individual. Heck, all you have to do is just carefully review his website to see bogus this guy is.

It's no rumor that Jeff Dane is a scam artist...The guy is a puppy factory and I rate him right up there with the worst Pet Stores.

I'm very sorry you are having so much trouble...he's been bad news for years and many people fall for his website and facilities but he got rich off the backs of selling puppies from mills AND lying about the health of many....

I've known a few people a few years back who went thru similar situations with him and I'm just sorry he's still in business....once the puppies leave his premises - he wants nothing to do with them and as someone who lives in Texas also - I've heard nothing but bad things about him.

There are some lucky people out there but there who have healthy puppies - but there are TOO many stories like yours and my heart goes out to you. I would report him and do whatever you can to call attention to this problem.

There is another member who has purchased from him but she had a good experience and says nothing but good things about Jeff.

I am sorry you got such a sick puppy, many people have talked about the bad experiences with Jeff Dane- seems that he doesn't really care about the pups he is selling, once the money is in his pockets.

If you dont feel like sharing each and every detail of your sale ect, don't worry about it... many here believe you on your word alone, and on the words of many others who were taken by this guy.

Not trying to be skeptical here, but if all these stories about this particular breeder/broker are true, why hasn't it been reported to the district attorney in that state as well as to the Humane Society.

I don't doubt the illness of the puppy, it seems like many of us get our puppies home and they are sick with kennel cough within 48 hours.

If this guy is such a sham, we here at YT should make sure the word gets out in it he is reported to the appropriate authorities to stop anyone else from falling victim to him. People like him need to be stopped, if the rumors and stories are true.

I agree that a lot of the bad publicity for some breeders comes for the fact that yorkies are especially susceptible to coccidia, kennel cough and hypoglycemia as puppies. All of mine had something except my Ava.

I think when you are a "volume" breeder or broker like Jeff Dane is you cannot make everyone happy all the time.

I have tried to get the Texas YTers near him to go for a visit to his operation and report back what they discover so we can take action if it is really bad and put him out of business. I even offered to pay for the gas for one but I got no takers. If I ever make it to that part of Texas, I will make it a point to go just because I am curious if those puppies are as bad off as some say.
