I have such conflicting feelings about purchasing from mills and pet stores...I know it helps them to continue their business, but OMG, what happens to the poor pups we don't rescue?

I am so sorry to hear that you have sickly babies. Since we are not directly attacking a breeder, it is in my opinion okay to call him what he is...POND SCUM!
Take up for him; question our comments; whatever, but these are our opinions which is what this forum encourages. And, unless I mis-read the rules, we cannot attack each other or other breeders. Is that right?
If not, I am sure I will be corrected or my post will be deleted.. JMO

First I would like to say thank you for sharing your story. That way he can't scam others. Second you are a good person to keep the babies, b/c lots of people would have just taken them back to him. And who knows what he would have done from there. It's so sad! I wish that there was some type of verification system for these people. That way they can't just say that they are good breeders! I hope your sweet babies get better soon! God bless you for having such a big heart. And I hope that they get better, and your others don't get sick! I will be saying a little prayer for all involved here.

It really astounds me to no end that ANYONE could possibly find anything positive about this guy. Honestly...the thought of him and what he does literally makes me sick to my stomach. Have I ever met him/talked to him? No. Do I have to meet him/talk to him to know what a creep he is, No. Do I care if he or anyone else thinks that is a 'fair' opinion? I can't believe someone would do that to these poor animals. Althought I'm sorry that you have to be caught in this mess, at least you're doing something good. It sounds like you came into the yorkie's life just in time. Just imagine what would happen if you didn't buy your yorkie and took care of him? Maybe it was meant to be for you to be the mama of this yorkie :) Sounds like you are giving this pup a lot of love and care. Your baby is very lucky to have you :)

He might not be breaking any laws so it is very difficult to do anything except spread the word. I'm not saying not to try I just know they can get away with a lot and still not be shut down. From just the posts on YT that I've found we have six members that have had bad experiences with this guy but not much that can be done about it.

We see a lot of stories on the news here about mills because we are close to Lancaster PA aka puppymill capital USA. Any dog lover would be horrified to see how they are kept. Legally.
Here is part of my point to the above statement - there was an undercover news investigation where the reporter went to the farm, showed cage upon cage upon cage....200 cages in all enclosed in a barn. That is how they live. They were there when an inspector inspected the place and found a dead dog and I swear I will never forget this...the reporter asked if anything would be done - a citation, anything and the inspector casually shrugged and said, "no, with this many dogs it's bound to happen." Didn't even bother to find out what killed it first.

There are a lof of people that might not think that is that bad including people who control these things. And there are worse if you really want to look for them.

oh gahh villette, help me, stop me, keep me from posting on this! i don't want to go here again... every time i hear the horror stories i get more sickened. anyone who is all for him, i say great for you, but he is not a person i would ever trust to insure me or anyone i know with a healthy baby. compare my baby to a coke can and i'll compare you to a.....well...i'll shut up now.

I've been posting and reading on Yorkie sites since Chanel was a baby - that's almost FOUR years. IF I had only recently joined forums I wouldn't be saying this... but feel I can say this because I HAVE been posting so long.

I've personaly talked to people who HAVE been there and HAVE purchased a sick puppy from him. It's probably because I AM in Texas that I've been contacted by those people....but I can say with 100% certainty that these are NOT RUMORS. I can remember people who were just heartsick about the puppy they bought from Jeff Dane....

Just because you personally have never talked to anyone... doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Why would anyone wany to defend someone who has TWELVE HUNDRED yorkies and who has over the years sold MANY sick puppies ?

Another tough night with the babies, I finally just took them both to my recliner and held them in a blanky, elevated so that they could get some rest. They seemed to not cough and gag so much in this position. They are just precious and snuggled up to my chest , we were warm and got a few Z's....

Someone posted that maybe it was meant to be like this.......for me to get these sick babies. I always try to look at life that way, it helps make the 'medicine' go down easier.

I will be notifying any organization I can get my hands on about this experience. Have already begun some of that, when I have a spare minute.

Feeling like a zombie here this morning, just in space with the curser, so I guess that is my clue to tootalou...

What you posted WILL help someone down the road :thumbup: ....so you've already done alot by sharing your experience.....Some people call it bashing ..but in reality - getting the word out about BAD breeders/brokers really does help others....I can say this from personal experience.

this sickens me. I had never heard of a puppy mill until i started looking for a dog a few months ago. i am not sure if we have these in the UK. I started reading up on them and I swear i was almost sick. it makes me want to cry to think of these places. this man should be jailed.

I agree with all you said.........I think about all the innocent little puppies everyday.....no matter the breed, they are always on my mind. Inside, we all cry for the precious babies that are born of greed and stupidity.
Hope you find the puppy of your dreams....it has been said "do your homework, then do it again"......SO TRUE!

I feel for you. You've done the right thing by getting the word out...words that so many of us knew already. Take care of those babies and keep drinking your coffee. Your efforts will not be in vain. We're all here for you! :)

Bless your heart! I have been that exhausted and one little thing that I do in stressful situations like yours .... keep a pad & pen handy & make little notes [even if it's just a word of two to jog your memory!]. Then when things get a little more sane and you can compile everything about your experience for whatever organization that will listen!! Be sure and note all the vet expenses, etc.

I have my babies in a little pack and play here by my desk, I hope my other babies don't get so jealous from me reaching in and getting the tiny one to hold. He is so sick, the cough just scares me to death. I bet I read every post here on Kennel Cough, and so many of my questions were answered just by reading. What a wealth of information here. I can't thank everyone enough for the support extended to me, much love to you all. Can't wait to get the chance to figure out how to post a picture, and for that matter, getting a decent picture . I am glad to hear that the babies are doing a weensy bit better. I would love to slap that bas+++d into the middle of next week. Maybe bitchslap him on the way. And, Villette, I would really like to slap his granny too.. Somebody done taught him wrong and I think it had to take more than 1 generation to make such an uncaring person. So, I'll just start with his granny and slap my way on down thru the years. Wonder what his pedigree looks like...Nah, he doesn't have one. They are too good for him. I am on a tear, here.
I have been up most of the night with dogs dropping like flies to diarrhea. Hubby overfed them on popcorn for one thing. Slap him into the middle of week after next!!! Anyhow, a total of 9 have the runs and Cruiser had bloody diarrhea. Had vetted him already. But, not Chrystel is in the hosp with him getting fluids. She is 6 weeks preggers and cannot take meds. Ilsa, bless her, is preggers also BUT Thank good ness, she is okay.
And, I am starting the Metronidazole routine. Ever calc. dosages for 7 different weights? i will have the vet double-check my dosages when I go to pick up my 2 younguns.

I will keep your 2 babies in my thoughts and prayers..you are the only one who will make them survive cause you care so much and are so giving of your time and heart..Smoochies to them..

Sorry to hear about your babies, hope they feel better soon. And please keep notes like bettyeanne says, its really helps. I am going through legal issues and if I did not keep notes along the way I would have already forgot so many details, even write down your converstations you have had with this jerk.
