My dogs were on Royal Canin for at least 3 months before I noticed their itching and paw licking/biting. It was as if it kind of had to build up in their systems or they developed a sensitivity to it after being on it. As soon as I got them off the Royal Canin, no more itching. No more licking their feet . My female itched so bad during this time she had a bald spot on her side that hasn't fully grown back yet.

I'd be very suspicious of the Royal Canin. Yorkies are often sensitive to the corn products in it.

He seems to be better today. He hasn't bitten his paws all day. He is scratching a bit but I noticed some black stuff in his ears so the itching could be from that. I am going to the vet on Friday and I will ask him.

Some better brands are Nutro, Innova, Chicken Soup for the Doglover Soul,Natural Balance, Califonia Natural and Canidae. You can usually find these at specialty petstores.

My baby bites his paw (s) too. He was given to me eating Eukanuba and Royal Canin mixed together we are slowing getting him off of the mix (given to us by the breeder) and using Benifcial. He will be completely off the mix this weekend. I hope the change in food changes his biting habits!!!
