| [News] Yorkie Saves Owner from a Well What a smart little guy! I'm glad he was able to tell his Mom to get out there! I still say bad reporting, though, that they didn't get the Yorkie's name! --- Only folks who have been afraid for their lives know what Yorkshire House Bed and Breakfast owner Dick Dalton felt like when he fell down a well last week. It was one of those days when things just kept going wrong. It began with the irrigation pump going kaput. Dalton had to install a new pump with help from his wife Angie. The installation was done by early afternoon, so Angie left to go fix some lunch. Across the backyard, down a hallway and into the kitchen she went, thinking all her husband had left to do was finish tightening things down. A little while later, she was confused by the behavior of their little Yorkshire Terrier. He was barking, spinning around in circles and running back and forth to the open door she had come through a few minutes earlier. "You silly dog," she said, thinking he was just playing for attention. But he kept going, and going, even after she told him to quit. Finally, she realized something was strange, that he wasn't just trying to be cute. So she followed him to the door, then back out to the pump house, where all his frantic spinning and running was leading her. When she got to the pump house, Angie could finally hear the muffled yells of her husband. He had been shouting for a while. http://www.plumasnews.com/news_story.edi?sid=2318 |
