| Getting Our Molly This Weekend! I am so excited! I spoke with the breeder and as far as things go now, we can get our new puppy, Molly, this weekend. We were planning on getting her Friday, but my little girl has an Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch Saturday from 11:30 to 2:00 at our Church and I don't want to leave Molly alone that long her first real day here. And of course, I can't take her with me at that young age not having all of her shots and with it being only her first real day in a new atmosphere. That would just be way too much for her and being around sooooo many people and sooooo many children!! NOOO WAY!! Therefore, I am considering waiting til Saturday afternoon to go get her. Of course, then I hate to leave her to go to Church Sunday, but I guess she will be okay for an hour or so. I just can't wait. We've waited for 2 weeks after we found her for her to be old enough to leave her Mommy. She will be just a couple of days short of 8 weeks. I've had my digital camera since Christmas but I haven't sat down and figured out how to put the pics on the computer so I'll have to do that by this weekend so I can then figure out how to post them on this site - I've read the directions here and Schatzie's Mama also sent me directions back when I had Maggie so it shouldn't be too hard to do. I'll get my hubby to help me! Keep us in your puppy prayers that nothing happens this week that Molly can't come home with us. I swear I'll have a fit if I have to wait another week! I'm having a hard time thinking about waiting until Saturday but I'm sure my husband won't stay off the stupid golf course to stay home with her while Ashlyn and I go to the party, and she's 3 and I can't not take her. But, I think that would be the best for Molly, don't you guys think? Thanks for letting me ramble. Sorry this was so long. I guess that's what we Yorkie Buddies are for, huh?!?

| How exciting! I think you're wise to wait to get her until this weekend. It will be better for everyone if you aren't running around the day she comes home! Yay for Molly!

| the first day i got toby, i took him to my moms house ....... she has three other dogs, and there was a whoel bunch of peeople there because it was cookie bake day.......he didnt have all of his shots either........ A family friend didnt want to bring her new puppy around ours because her puppy hasnt had its shots and her vet said that it will pick up parvo if it comes around our dog .... i told her that this is not true, and that toby has all his shots, a clean bill of health, and certainly doesnt have parvo.... i thought it was a little over the top and i took offense at it. I guess i shouldnt have, but my baby is not a disease infested dog and for the vet to suggest that is just plain wrong. Anyways, the point of my story is that i did all these things to toby the first day i got him and he turned out fine, this is the way my family is, (hectic) and i wouldnt want toby to be so sheltered that he cant deal with it. |

| Oh, if it was like a family thing I wouldn't think much about it. But I'm talking about at least 100 people probably more with children in age of babies to maybe 13 or so. Plus, it is at public facilty. We rent a certain part of it, but somehow other children alway seem to wander into our party and everyone ends up moving to the big playground. Other people bring their dogs out there and I would have no idea what dogs could be there or have been there - that's what I mean about her not having her shots and being a little concerned. Also, everyone keeps saying you should let them get settled before you take them around lots and lots of people or have lots of visitors to show your new puppy off. Am I missinterpreting? If I am way off base here, you guys let me know. I would LOVE to take Molly with me Saturday!!

| Hi Gingi, I know you are beside-yourself excited!! I don't want to sound like a party pooper but I really wouldn't take the puppy to that gathering. The thing you need to consider other than how the puppy is reacting is how you would react to ALL those people wanting to see her, hold her, etc. You may be different but if it was me, I'd rather bond with my puppy in a calm atmosphere. You don't want Molly to get "nervous" vibes from you right off. It's just one more day (is that right?) and you and your daughter will enjoy the day a LOT more. Whatever your decision, Good luck and post pix asap!!

| I agree with them. All children big and small want to handle the new puppy. Go and you and your daughter enjoy yourselfs then come home and enjoy the new puppy. Have a Great Time.

| So exciting that you get to pick up Molly this weekend. I, too, think you are making the right decision by waiting until Saturday afternoon to get her. Go and enjoy the Easter egg hunt with your daughter & then have a relaxing evening with Molly & the fam Saturday evening! & posting pictures to the computer isn't that hard - we want to see lots of Molly & share in your joy! Happy Easter! |
