| Sick Is it normal for a dog to be sick after getting shots? Layla had her third set of shots yesterday, and she threw up quite a bit as soon as we got home but I assumed it was just from the car ride. Now she just threw up again this morning. She hasn't really gotten sick before without a reason like a car ride. Should I be worried?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | It's probably a combination of both the car ride AND the vet visit...poor baby - I hope she feels better today... You could try a tiny bit of boiled chicken and white rice to settle her tummy ? |

| Thanks for the quick reply! I'm heading off to class right now but if she's still sick when I'm home I will definitely do that!

| I think it is like your human baby getting a shot. sometimes they are sick for a while. Pretty normal.

| I sure hope your little one feels better soon. Whenever my Sophie gets shots, she gets very sick, sore and lethargic. I called my vet, mainly because i was concerned with her tiny size, and they had me bring her in for observations. Turns out, she was having an allergic reaction. From now on, any time she has to get shots, they pre-medicate her before giving her the shots, then keep her for the day to observe her. It was pretty scary the first time it happened, she just wasnt herself. I would recommend that you call your vet. Better safe, than sorry! Hope she feels better soon!

| I forgot about it, but she also got a topical medicine for possible parasites, that was supposed to absorb into her bloodstream, so maybe that could be it too. She was fine with all her other shots. But thankfully she hasn't been sick all morning. I just got home for lunch and she's running around and being crazy like normal
