Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | PLEASE RESEARCH what you're thinking of doing..... 1st - there is no teacup yorkie.... 2nd ....Breeding a very small female is dangerous for her and anyone wanting to do this should be sat down and talked to. IF you find a female - and she is tiny - I highly advise you to talk to her "owner" and let them know that they're risking her life. If you go ahead with this...PLEASE look for a female that is a good size for breeding - not a tiny girl

| Yes please research this! Any female under 5 pounds is extremely risky to breed, too dangerous. Teacup is a term coined to sound rare and to draw money!! The standard is 4 to 7 pounds. I am in no way trying to be rude and you probably unaware of the complications of doing what you are thinking of doing which is even more reason to research so that maybe one day you can have a healthy mom, dad and litter of squirming babies!! |

| I dont think you are going to find a small female for this because most owners of tinies already know how risky it would be and their females are spayed.I will try to explain..A tiny yorkie bred with another tiny yorkie doesnt always mean tiny pups and this is exremely dangerous for the mother (can you imagine a 2/3lb body holding 2+ regular sized pups? Its insane!).My vet explained that some people dont understand this and he has had people go in to his clinic with a tiny dog whos body is too small for the pups she has in her uterus. What could happen? The mothers uterus could "rip" towwards the end of the pregnancy or during birth causing her to bleed to death, the pregnacy could cause her to have seizurs,or her blood sugar could get seriously low causing her to go into a coma, the pups can practiaclly suck the life out of her,the birth will probably be by c-section which is major surgery for such a tiny body and of course could cause the death of the mother..etc etc etc. These are just a few of the things that can go wrong when a tiny is bred but there are alot more...I know of these because these things above are things that my vet has actually experienced. I think you are better off finding a good sized female and choosing the smallest pup in the litter. Its safer and kinder too... I still think you should do some research on this subject though, you will see that what we are trying to explain is true |

I comptetely agree! Please talk to someone who knows a lot about breeding and they will confirm everything that we are saying here.. I can't see any owner of a tiny little girl allowing her to get pregnant. It is just asking for trouble, and would be very selfish on their part. Please reconsider this, and look into getting with a standard size female. Good luck..

| We have a great section for "Breeder Talk"- you should go there and read through the threads. Before studding your male, please make sure that he's been tested for all the most common diseases and conditions to make sure that he isn't a carrier for any of them. As others have said, you don't want to breed your male with another female that is so small- it's too much of a risk on the females life. We have so many experienced breeders on here and I'm sure they would be able to help you through the process. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | First off, Welcome to YT! PLEASE research before you do anything! there is no such thing as a teacup. It is just a term used by breeders/brokers/pet shops to make more money. It is extreemly dangerous to breed a female under 5 pounds, and it is risking their life if someone decides to. Gina brought up good points in her post about that. You can still get small pups by breeding a small male with a standard sized female. Good luck.

| Since it seems to me your reason for breeding is to produce tines, I would also urge you to read everything there is to read here on the many reasons not to do that. BTW Welcome to Yorkie Talk....believe me we are not always so negative, it's just we feel so very strongly about this subject.
