| Can a yorkie have worms.... If they have been wormed. Sorry I know this may seem a daft question but I don't know, Smudger his blood in his poo today (he's had 2 poos) and I've done a search and found it "could" be worms but Smudger has been wormed about 6 weeks ago. Can they still get worms?? Thanks

| When Chachi had worms you could see them in his poo. The blood in the poo could be other things besides worms. I would take him to a vet.

There are different kinds of worms. Some you can't see. I would bring a sample of the poo with you tomorrow. It's the blood that concerns me. I wish I could be more help. Please keep us posted.

| When I received Pixie, no worming history from her breeder. I got in touch with her and just double talk. My vet wormed Pixie twice, 3 weeks apart and after checked her poop. Pixie also had the same symptons, bloody diarhhea. Her breeder also claimed Pixie had been tested for Giardia but nothing was on the vet records so we retested her, was negative. This can be another issue, seems alot of puppies arrive with it. I had it with two other puppies in past years. |

| Yes puppy can have worms after being wormed. Blood in the stool could be coccidia. I would get the pup to a vet soon. |

| Several of my dogs have had a little blood in their stool for only a day or two and then never again. It often has been only something they ate or swallowed (as pups can do) and it irritated their colons causing them to bleed for only one or two days. I would watch your pup for a few days - and, if he continues to have blood in his stool - then I would take him to the vet. Carol Jean |
