Default Sneak her into motel ????

We are going out of town for the night ( taking the kids to a swimpark motel ) and can't find anyone to look after Reese. She is only 2 pounds and I am tempted to sneak her into the motel with us for the night............I REFUSE to leave her alone for 24 hours !! I have to keep reminding my hubby she is NOT like a cat !!! So it has come down to either we take her, or we don't go at all. Would you take your furbaby with you ??
By the way, she is completely puppy pad trained.

I'm chicken, I couldn't do it. This one time we were staying at a hotel and they knew that we had Trixie with us and were fine with it. But the pet policy said not to leave the dog alone in the room under any circumstances. Well, my husband and I were just going to get some dinner. And all the way to the restaurant I was sweating and so worried that she was going to make a noice and they'd find her by herself. We actually turned around, and ordered in

But to cancel the trip... is the motel not accepting animals? Is there another motel or hotel close by that does? I would say other people might tell you to take her... Like I said, I'm just chicken...

I would be terrified that he would decide to go on a chewing rampage and destroy the hotel room. Maybe just look for another hotel that does allow pets.

I could never do it. I would be afraid my dogs would bark and we would get caught.

I did it!! We just had gotten nina at 9 weeks. We went to the casinos for new years eve, and noone was the wiser. We even took apart her crate and wrapped a sweatshirt around it, and she was in her bag. We tired her out before we had to walk through, but its loud in there anyway.

Default motel

My goodness, I do it all the time..and NOT just one...last time it was FOUR adults and a litter of 3 puppies. We always try to find a pet friendly, but many times it is not possible. I look for a motel with an outside entrance..the type when you park your car infront of the door...but I have stayed in places with lobbies and had to put them in a tote bag and go up in the elevator, one by one.
One time I had to make 5 trips to the car and bring them in covered under my coat..once in the room, my Yorkies are quiet and I NEVER leave them alone.
I do not let them pee on the carpets..I put panties on them or belly bands. I also take a pen and folding gates to make a barrier in the bathroom area if need be..I cover the floor with wee wee pads too...this is what "dog" people have to do sometimes! LOL

I would find a place that takes furbabies. You wouldn't want to be worried all day on your trip. I'm sure your kids want to go, so I would look for a new place to stay.

We have done it a couple of times...when Magic was little we were staying at a hotel and they did not know we had her...she stayed quiet and didn't bark or destroy anything, we made sure she used her pee pads or went outside and would just carry her in under cover!! We never got caught and we did leave Magic by herself for a little bit but she slept the whole time and did great!!

I would say to either try and find a pet friendly hotel or take her and just try and keep things quiet!!

Great story, I just love it!
I would totally do it. I would bring her crate though so she doesnt chew anything she not supposed to up, but if its only for one day it should be fine! I am bring Thor to the beach with me at spring break to a not dogs allowed house...well they are allowed with a rediculous deposit. There will actually be two dogs there. You better believe they he will be crated when im not there. Good luck to you and I hope you hvae a great time!

I do exactly the same and yes I have smuggled in all of mine when I had just 5 but now with 7 I would get too tired making all those trips I just don't need a motel often as we travel in a large motorhome so that takes lots of the stress off.

I have traveled many times with my poodle. sometimes it was at a motel that did not allow pets. never got into trouble. Sometimes it is at a pet friendly motel and all they ask is that we crate the dog if we want the maid to come in. i did crate her once but usually I notify maid service that we will not be needing her that day and she has the run of the room.

I would try to find a Motel 6, if there is one near where you are going. Dogs are welcome there without additional charge. Every location has different policy though so you always need to check on the local pet policy. Good luck and have a nice trip.

When we evacuated for Katrina, the hotel said that they took pets, we got there and they changed their story. They told me that I would have to put her in a near by kennel. FAT CHANCE!!!! I acted like I did, but snuck Gracie in and got caught on the second day (she barks alot). They threatened to kick me out (my daughter was 3 months old at the time). There were no available hotels anywhere. I caused a scene in the lobby in front of a WHOLE BUNCH of people from Louisiana. Dog in one hand baby in another, the people from Louisiana had my back and I am happy to report I stayed in that hotel for 2 weeks WITH GRACIE!!! They gave us free breakfast for our entire stay and all of the sudden treated us like royalty. I let Gracie pee on the carpet the day we left (I know, I'm bad). Sometimes I regret not throwing that turd under the bed
