| To Tape Or Not To Tape I have a new Yorkie puppy 11 weeks old and I was wondering if his ears will stand up by them selves or do they need to be trained by taping them. I have a 3 1/2 old female Yorkie and her ears were taped when we got her. Her ears stand up great. I have had my new puppy for about 5 days and called about 4 veternarians and all told me they do not do that. I am confused. What do I do ........ or not do. To tape or not to tape that is my question.

| For now I'd just keep them shaved since he or she is ony 11 weeks. This most of the time will do the trick. My Rocky ears were standing at 12 weeks but when we got Daisy her were floppy. I did keep her shaved but they just wanted to stay floppy. Last month Daisy turned 7 months and I found a website that showed how to tape. This site to me seems easier than the traditional way. Over all Daisy was tapped for 9 days and "BAM"...They are straight up and now she and Rocky have ears that match. Daisy was very cute with her floppy's but I at least wanted to try once. Here is the thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ight=soft+taco But please don't worry about your pup...11 weeks is still very young. I expect the shaving will work and if not you can always tape. |

| Thank-you so much for sending me that site that shows how to tape my puppy's ears. One of his ears has just a little perk to it and the other one lays flat on his head. I am going to tape them myself per the instructions on the site you sent me. I just don't understand why the vets won't do it. None of them and I called 4 different places. Thanks again.
