I just said I want another one. Waited 3 months and got the second. He agreed that a second would be a good thing for Romeo and I think he was jealous that Romeo stuck to me more. |

I really hope you are able to talk your husband into adding to your family :) I have the opposite problem, it's my boyfriend who wants another one lol  |
At first my husband didn't even want me to get 1 dog! I am 48 and have had dogs my entire life..When I got divorced I had to leave my dog with my X (apartments don't allow dogs). Anyway I remarried and wanted a dog..I wanted something small that I could hold and smother with hugs and kisses (my children are grown up now and out of the house) so I thought...why not buy a yorkie. My new husband really keen on the idea but finally after a year gave in...well...he loves her almost as much as I do! Sadie Mae stays with my Mom and Dad and her furfriend Heidi everyday that I work. I thought it would be a good idea to get Sadie a playmate, as she just turned 2 and the cat doesn't play very much. I mentioned this to my husband and he wasn't very happy that I wanted another dog.Well.....he bought a brand new Harley (without selling the old one first so now he has 2!) without my knowledge soooooooooo I am now waiting for my new furbaby to be born! HA! If he mentions anything about my new furbaby all I have to say is...At least you KNOW I am buying Sadie Mae a new sister....Although he really does love Sadie Mae and I know he would rather I don't get another. He really doesn't mind...He spoils me! And that's the way it should be!!lol So I say...get the furbaby and tell your hubby yorkies are like chips!!!! you can never have just one!! |
Buy the puppy, bring her home, and hand her to your dear sweet hubby and say, "Here is your new child." :eyetearss I've done that a time or two! Always works for me, but my guys loves the animals |
Mine didnt have any say in it! he has three dogs of his own so he could hardly say no to me:) although my mum had this trouble with hers, he was determined that she wasnt going to get another dog, and she was determined that she was, in the end she just went and got it, he now takes the dog everywhere with him, its not interested in my mum :) |
i just asked and when he said no i said ahhhh thanks honey ill start looking now lol. He knew was it losing battle I just asked to be considerate but knew i was getting another anyway. |
#2 wasn't that difficult -- my daughter was the reason we gave for getting another and the breeder "gave" us Cooper so it was doubly easy! #3 -- well that is another story! I saw a lil' girl that was about 5 years old before an LSU game tailgating with her daddy. She was just as cute as could be. She is the first yorkie that I had seen in a puppy cut that I really liked. After that day, I had the itch really bad!!! I started looking and when I found Crissy, I emailed him the pics and told him that I knew he said we were a 2-dog house but that she was just so beautiful and wouldn't she be a cute addition to the house. I told him she looked like a Crissy. (My dh was away at work and not home.) The next morning, he sent me an email saying "Dearest: Merry Christmas, get the dog." This was before Halloween and I wasn't going to fuss about giving up a Christmas present in order to have my dream girl. I picked up Crissy on Halloween Day. It was easier for the third than I thought but I had really been dropping heavy duty hints for a few weeks before I sent him the email with Crissy's pics. |
Sounds like we all think alike! We don't need no stinkin' permission!! read with Latino accent as in Three Amigos :D :D After all, what's the worst he can do? Get mad and leave you alone for a few days while you play with your new puppy??? That would be torture! :p As my mom always used to tell me when I was upset "you're young-you'll get over it" ! |
OH -- forgot to add that my dh was away at work so long that I picked up Crissy and she was here at home for 7 weeks before he finally met her. There was no sending her back for sure! :) |
