Your Yorkie's Name!!! This is for everyone... Post your yorkies full name (first, middle, and last) and the meaning behing each one!!! I'll go first... Jackson 'Boner' Thurston!!! Jackson- After Michael Jackson (im a fanatic, and i just love that name) Boner- Because his little docked tail always sticks up and it looks like... well... you know.... :P Thurston- is of course the family name. Zoe - I didn't know it was a girl's name so I named my boy Zoe. I thought it was cute and the name didn't associate to anything in my head so I thought it was perfect. I wanted Zoe to have a name that is HIS and will not remind me of anything else. |
Ava Belle. Ava: i just think this is a beautiful 1940s name. Belle: i love the name belle from beauty and the beast, since she is so beautiful it had to be belle. |
Well, my boy is "Louie Giovani D." My daughter named him because she loves the designer Louie Vitton (sp) and Giovani I think just because we are Italian. lol.......Our little girl is "Bella" because she is so beautiful of course. My daughter wanted to name her "Daphney" which is cute but she is just a "Bella" I havent really thought of a middle name for her. I'll have to think about that. Maybe some of you could give ideas???? :) |
I baught my two yorkies pretty close together and i didn't realize the whole name thing was so important or that you could even give them a middle name. So my breeder's just put in what they wanted. I gave them their first names though. Ruby's is Ruby Red of Kingcreek (kingcreek is the breeders kennels name). Bella's is Bella the Bay Gault (Gault is bella's kennels name). I wish I could do a name change for them (for their middle and last names) haha Oh well now i know if i get a third! |
Chizziewink atyahoodotbell I work in an elementary school library in Georgia. A couple of years ago, the Chizzywink and the Alamagoozlum was a nonimee for the Georgia Children's Picture Book Award. I just fell in love with the book and I like the way Chizzie rolls off the tounge. Her daddy's name was Yahoo and her mamma was named Bell, and I love computers. So.... What elese could I name her. btw-- a Chizzywink is another name for a large mosquito in Florida Ima Southern Chattie Belle Her name was gonna be Gremlin, however, when I brought her home she would look up at me and make all of these adorable chattering noises. So I started calling her Chattie, we live in the south and she IS a little lady. Peppy Tag-A-Long Jacquimo I didn't name him, Peppy came to live with me when he was 7 months old. Had I named him i would have called him something else (I'm keeping my future names secret, cause I don't want identity theft - :lol tears ) |
Raging Raven Schewe. The raging came from my husband because he was outraged that I even bought the dog. Raven because I liked that name, and Schewe is our last name. The funny thing is her AKC name is Raven, but she goes by Scoobie. Thats because after we got her my husband would come home and walk through the door and go "Scoobie Doobie Doo where are you?" The name just stuck - so now my cute name of Raven went to Scoobie. The sad thing is we get our little male this Sunday and my husband wants to name it either Scrappy (Scoobies cousin), or Shaggy (Scoobies buddy). Oh well I'm just happy that my husband has fallen for Raven - a..k.a. Scoobie! |

Sugar b/c she is super sweet and Bear b/c thats the name of my male maltese/pom that passed right b 4 I got her had he not passed I would've never gotten my Sugar Bear wow my life would've been really dull. |
Chomper My sweetie is Lilmiss Chomper but we call her Chompie... My sone was very into the Land Before Time and loved the name... I thought at the time it was horrible as she was such a pretty little girl and needed a pretty name but she is such a little chompie that it fits her... We're looking to get a puppy now and I need a name that goes with it... Maybe nibbles??? |
"Schatzie's Golden Dreamer" She is named after my Yorkie who passed away. Schatzie is German and means Little Sweetheart/Darling :D "Hold Me For Ransom" Ransom's name just kinda hit me one day. Not much thought really was put into it. :D |
The Grand Duke of Windsor aka "Brutus". Our house model is called the Buckingham Grand Windsor and of course he is the "Duke" of the house. Well Brutus just made me smile as a name for a yorkie and I have to tell you it fits him to a tee! ;) |
Our little princess is named Fiona. Our 2 yr. old was going through a Shrek phase when we got her. Ironically enough it fits her perfectly, she is just as feisty, and looks great in green! lol :D |

Mr. Tucker Montgomery Tucker because it just fit him to a T, and Montgomery because we live in Montgomery county, and loved the name. Added the Mr. on there because he is always such a gentleman Tripp _______ Well we named Tripp this because he is our third Yorkshire Terrier, and because it started with a T like Tucker. We haven't come up with a middle name that sounds good, and suggestions would be great! |

Tigger: Because he hopes around everywhere like the bouncy tigger on Winnie the Pooh. (you should see his leg muscles. They're huge) Hossbach: My boyfriends last name. (he's actually his dog, so if anything should happen between him and I he gets the dog) We need some good suggestions on what his AKC name should be. |

Mason Mason Rae humps alot Mason- just because I liked the name Rae- 2 meanings 1 because its my grandmas middle name who past away and the 2nd reason because Masonry-like the person who is a brick layer.. and well the humps alot ...thats self explanitory :aimeeyork |
Gracie Claire Evans Gracie because she just looked so graceful and dainty when I first saw her, Claire is my first name and I am from the south, Gracie-Claire sounds so southern! She is born and raised in Louisiana so she had to have a southern name. Evans is my last name. My neighbors call her Gracie Lou Freebush after Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. |

Princess Kamaryn Shugart :aimeeyork My daughter named her Kammie after one of my ballet students who she admires. We put Princess on the front because she is a princess, although she doesn't like to wear her crown. We came up with Kamaryn to be her proper name for "Kammie" which is what we call her. Shugart is our family name. |
My first yorkie (now desceased) here is her name on her papers: Lacey Azalia Francais. Lacey because the day I got her, she kept undoing everyone's shoe laces. Francais because it is French. And we live in SE Louisiana and are of French-Canadian "cajun" decent. Azalia, I don't know. Just thought it sounded neat together. My family and I just purchased a second yorkie but she is still at the breeders home. Because she is not old enough to come home; yet. But, I already picked out a name for her. Chloe Cheyenne. Chloe just because I like it. Even though I did not realize how popular it is now. I am probably going to be the 5th or 6th person on yorkie talk with a yorkie named Chloe. Cheyenne because it sounds pretty and it is the capitol of Wyoming. That is where my parents were supposed to go this last Aug/Sept. But, Hurricane Katrina ruined those plans. |
Lucky Lady Alexis Lucky- my 4 yr old daughter loves Doctor Doolittle Lady- b/c she is a girl Alexis- I had already picked the name Lexie and just wanted something a little more Dynasty (Diva-ish) for her AKC. If I had to do it all over, I probably would have put on her AKC---- Lexie Lou Who--- take a look at my avatar, it speaks for itself. LOL |
Gabby: Gabriel's Jewel (I love the name Gabriel and Jewel was her mother's name) Gage: Not really sure how we came up with that, we wanted something that started with a "G" to go with Gabby - so we picked that. |
Daphne is my pom, and we named her after we picked her up. I orginally wanted Prissy or Foxie, but my Dh didnt hear of it.. she was told to us by the breeder she would be a red/orange sable and so Dh thought of Daphne as a red-head and it stuck.. she now lives up to her name SO well! Taylah is my yorkie.. I just picked it one day after I seen her very 1st pic and knew it was it! I wanted somethign girlie, and sassy and I loved the way it sounds.. :D |

Okay, follow me on this... Monkey Elegante (Eli-gon-tay) - Because he is so elegant in his ways. He sits pretty, walks pretty, he eats small and prefers things "just so". He wasn't called this until we got Maddie because... Maddie Elephante (Eli-fon-tay) - Because she was just like a tank. She ate like a pig, played rough and was just kind of sloppy and not graceful at all. That was the cutest thing about her :p . We would make fun of her after watching her eat and say she was as big as an elephant that she was going to put holes through the floor. What was so funny about that was that she was only 5 lbs...LOL :D Lil Maddie Elephante - Well, I think we all know the reason for this one! Like mother, like daughter!! |
