I had the name Oliver before I ever found my little guy.
I just thought it was cute and was really stuck on Olive if I ended up with a girl. Everyone says he looks just like an Oliver :D
but people keep telling me that Oliver was a cat in some disney movie... um that is so not where I got his name!

Princess- cause that is what she is to us
Hayley- just becasue she looks like a Hayley and I like the name even for a skin kid
Danielle- my neice named her becasue one of her best friends is named that
Pocrnich- that is our last name

Merlot Brown
Merlot because he was born outside of Temecula (known for it's wine here in Cali). Also I love wine, so much that I have a tatoo of a grapevine on my foot! The funny thing is Merlot, is one of my least favorite wines. His name was almost Syrah, which is my fav, but it sounded too girlie. Then he has my last name Brown. Simple and sweet :animal36

well pixie came from my son i wanted to call her itsy and every time i said it we would correct me and say pixie so after a while the 4 yr old won and pixie stuck then he started calling her pixie roo every time he yelled at her to come so that is were she got that and then gottfried well thats the family name her nickname is " rat brat "
cause my husband says that she is the cutest rat he has ever seen and that she is a brat cause she always gets her way so it stuck

Mayzie Grace Madoka Shadey

Mayzie/Maizie (not sure how I am going to spell it yet) means yellow but I really liked it so that is not the reason I chose it

Grace - goes nice with Mayzie

Madoka - Japanese for sweet one

Shadey - a combination of my married name with my maiden name.

The real reason for this combo is that it is by God's "aMAYZIE GRACE that I am even getting this SWEET ONE because my husband was so adamantly opposed for so long about another inside dog. However, he has softened considerably and has been very active in taking part in preparations that when he came up with SHADEY as a name :rolleyes: I thought I better include it ;) He thought he really had something....awwwww :D

Well my pups name is Mini ..I would of loved to name her a exotic name but her daddy wanted to name her Minnie mouse and i said no Mini was ok ..I end up calling her Min -neer or Miss Mini since our last names in our family all have fords in them shes a Mini ford haha

Baxter was named after his Mommy... Sassys little Baxter..I picked Baxter cause I love english names, Sassy was his mom..and believe me He should have been called Sassy.... My daughter calls him Furby and my son calls him chewie after chewbaca in star wars.

Hope is our Shetie/Boston Terrier mix's name. We named her Hope because at the time we got her, we were just starting to recover from losing everything we owned, our home, cars, my husbands job, so we figured we needed some hope, and since we've had her ( 2 years) we have had a slow and steady recovery. We now own a smaller home than our first but it's still a home. Thanks Hope.

Sir Echo is the 8 year old Yorkie we just adopted. We named him Echo after Mr. Echo on Lost because both are quiet and Mysterious. We changed Mr. to Sir because the Yorkie is British.

Sophie: Sophos, Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Also means clever & skilled (boy, is she ever!). We haven't yet sent in her AKC reg papers...we're still bouncing around different names for her registry.

But it had to end in an "i" cause all our names do. And Sunny Hollow is the street we live on.

Our new baby who is coming home next month is:

Carolina Blush :love: We are going to call her Blush, This is a wine from my favorite vineyard, in NOrth Carolina! And Blush is one of Robbie's (Butterfly Yorkies)babies who is just a few towns away fromthe vineyard! When we pick up BLush next month we are going to have to stop at the Vineyard and take a picture! LOL

Trace N. Tew.......
Trace from Trace Adkins (cause our dd said as a pup he was "rough and ready"....she wanted to name him that....we settled on the singer's first name)
The initial N doesn't really stand for anything cause we can't think of a n name that sounds good with Trace. We use it cause we sing "I'm T-N-T, I'm dynamite, T-N-T I'm outta sight"...when he's being fiesty.
Trace probably thinks his middle name is Racer cause he's often called Tracer Racer ;)

When DD was 4, we got a golden retriever puppy who she insisted be named Sally Lynn. Now when we get her registeration papers back....there are a whole lot of formal sounding forebearers.....so and so of such and such, sir whatever of wherever....then at the bottom...our slow witted, red neck sounding....Sally....LOL.

Brigette Bardot of Idaho...

I picked Bridget because as I first got her home, the names I picked didnt fit, so I went through a list of names I liked and we I called out Bridget, she ran an jumped up to be held.

Bardot of Idaho, because she is sultry and smooth and just a lover to everyone, and we live in Idaho, and she was born here.

Our Westie is Kirby McDuff. Called Duffy. My husband named him. We wanted a scottish sounding name. That is all we could come up with.

"Lana's Sweet Jasmine" because Lana is my name and she is my baby. As I went through all the girl names, Jasmine just seemed to fit a beautiful little girl like her. The "Sweet"? Well she was sweet when we got her, now she is a holy terror. HaHA Just kidding. She's still sweet. Just terribly spoiled and a regular little" Diva" at times.

I think she needs a middle name though, because when I want to yell at her I need a middle name, you know like you always say your child's first and middle name when your are mad.

Any suggestions?

Ella Bean Piraino: Ella because I just thought it was so cute, I wanted to name her Jem but my boyfriend at the time wouldn't let me and Bean because when she is on the couch laying there she looks like a little bean and Piraino, last name!!!!

After I named her Jasmine, I sorta wished I had named her Jezabell and called her Bell. It was too late. I'm not good at thinking up names.

middle names sometimes are developed after, like when it just flows with the name, our american eskimo's name was Shadow but then we started calling her Shady Jane or Shadow bird, those kind of just happened!

you'll think of a middle name, it's kind of like a nickname, sometimes.

Annie was my Anniversary present from husband and he had named her that because it is short her ANNIversary :D

My baby boy's name is Matthias Chandler Heuston.

Matthias - German for Matthew, which means Gift from God. If I were to have a son I wanted to name him Matthias. I lost a son 13 1/2 years ago and knew that to have another one would be a true gift from God. Since I had to have a hysterectomy (life and death situation), that isn't gonna happen. So my husband allowed me to adopt a dog of my choice to be my son. And the circumstances of my adopting Matthias was a true gift from God, through one of His dear angels here on earth, who in our house we refer to as Matthias Godmother. :)
Chandler - I love the show 'Friends'. Absolutely love it. Probably my favorite show ever. I already have a cat named Phoebe after my fave female character on the show. Chandler is my fave male character on the show, so there is the middle name....
Heuston - that's our last name. It's spelled odd because I married a German and apparently names are spelled weird there. I don't know. I get a lot of comments about it. It drives our vet crazy. hehehehe

I don't have papers for Matthias so he's not registered under that name or anything. I didn't care much about the papers. I'm not breeding him nor am I showing him, so it didn't matter. But Gary was kinda like wanting the papers anyway, just for the proof of his breed and lineage. *shrug* ah well. I don't consider it an issue. I was gonna make my own 'adoption certificate' anyway. Being an artist, I figured it would mean more that way. :)

Sir Oliver of Bockyville - He just looked like an Oliver and he is the ruler of the house...and the Bockyville is a play on our last name.

I havent picked her up yet, but she will be named: Roxi Hart or Princess Felicity. Cant really decide on a name yet.

Zoes is "Tesla lives on in Zoe" Tesla was our dog that we had for 14 years befor Zoe and Zoe was a cute little girl I knew....

Lizzys name is "Elizabeth Meyisha KT" Elizabeth means Consecrated by GOD and Meyisha means..Strong Fighter and KT stands for Kelsey and Trevor (my two children) Lizzy has a cleft pallatte and fought to be in this world so we needed a name to represent her....

Lady Zoe' Sienna. Lady from the movie Lady and the Tramp. Zoe' because I like that name off a list of names and the same for Sienna. We call her Zoe'.

Princess Mia Grace. Princess to kinda go along with Lady. I had wanted to name a second yorkie girl Gracie and Princess Grace after Grace Kelly. Mia I just seen off of a breeders sight and added in. But that is the name of the princess in the movie Princess Dairies. I was torn between calling her Mia or Gracie, I went with Mia and it just fits her. I believe she is going to be petite and I hope smaller then her big sister. She is 1 pound 8oz at 12 weeks old.

Kobe Tyne Birdys lil rascal - Kobe because we liked the name and were laker fans at the time. Tyne because it is a combination of my husband and boys middle names. Birdy is a nickname of my daugher. lil rascal because he is one. :)
