YT Addict | Bad habit We’ll little Elvis has developed a real bad habit, hoping somebody has an answer. He’s been chewing on the legs of our coffee table and Hes really persistent about it. Anyone else had this problem? And how did you address it? He has rawhides and tug toy,and we just bought him a small KONG toy and put peanut butter in it trying to distract him ….Eats the PB then goes back at the table, little stinker😒

| Maybe try that bitter apple spray? I haven’t had a puppy in a long time, but thinking about getting one…. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...-apple#reviews

| Throw out all the raw hide, it is not safe or good for him. Rawhide swells in the stomach and causes blockages and it is not a food product and treated with formaldehyde. If you freeze the peanut butter in the Kong it will last longer. You can try the bitter apple spray but a lot of dogs actually like it. When I had a puppy interested in cords I put deodorant on the cords that I couldn’t hide and the smell was enough to keep them from even touching the cords. The other option is when you can not watch him keep him out of that area with a baby gate or play pen. When you can watch him and he does it tell him a firm No and give him something he is allowed to chew on and when he chews on that praise him. You could also tell him No and remove him from that room and not allow him back in by using the baby gate or play pen.

| When I had puppies they were gated off entering rooms I could not watch them. Gate off all rooms, only allow him in if you can watch him. I had a puppy that loved the taste of Bitter Apple, just a heads up, what works for some dogs, do not always work for all dogs. When she would start on the coffee table legs, I would tell her no in a very firm tone and give her toys. Puppies should never have free roam without supervision, they get into things you can't even imagine, so many things around the house can be very harmful, even fatal. As frustrating as this is, enjoy every day with Elvis, they grow so fast. Meant to add, Taylor is correct about the rawhides, do not give them to any dog.
