| Just another manic Monday! I hope everyone has had a better Monday then us! Poor Penny is generally my little steel stomached soldier. She didn't eat for 2 days which is crazy weird for her and she wouldn't take any treats. She threw up twice and had some diarrhea. She ate Sunday night so I thought we were on the mend. Woke up this morning and she threw up and had straight liquid diarrhea and then was sort of hiding. So called the Vet ASAP and they got us in like right away. New Vet that our practice hired and our first time seeing her. Obviously my concern was pancreatitis. They did x-rays, blood work and a fecal. No blockages, not pancreatitis and fecal was negative for everything except a little blood which was not seen in her poo she did at home but was seen at the vet. They did see a lot of gas on the xray. Poor baby had an accident in the exam room. They went with GI upset. Gave fluids, a nausea ejection, nausea meds for the next few days and metro. We got home and I fixed her some chicken and rice and she ate some of it and finally got some good rest. She is running around with her siblings now but still a little sluggish and making sure I am near but already showing improvement. Thank God for pet insurance. How everyone else had a much better start to their week.

| Thank you! She is doing much better today. She has kept food down, both meals yesterday and breakfast. She is also keeping up with her siblings and running around with them again.

| That is so similar to what Piper has been through. All the tests came back good, her blood work is that of a "much younger" dog according to two vets. Piper's response to the anti-nausea and getting hydrated was immediate. It's taken a couple of weeks, but with eating ONLY Hills i/d digestive prescription and boiled chicken for treats, she is doing well. I know that maintaining a controlled diet is critical to her well-being. Nothing so lousy as seeing your little one in distress and pain and discomfort. AND NOTHING SOO WONDERFUL AS SEEING THEM HAPPY AND ENERGETIC AND FEELIN' GOOOOOD! All the best for continued good health to all! |

| Riiggghhhtttt???!!!!! They're "not sure" with Piper either so we're just going the cautionary route because Piper is an "older" dog now and digestive problems often happen as they age. I am just thrilled and relieved both of our girls are doing well!! Oh, by the way, I am now giving Piper a chicken stew which she likes and eats on her own. Thanks for good advice and info, Tay' |
