| Seems to have regressed today. Was fairly active, drank water, ate kibble yesterday by himself. Today didn't eat, drink much, and much less active. But did eat some, and drank water a bit - but not as much as yeasterday. Seems something in his throat bothers him - at least that's what i'm thinking. When he barked because of door bell - did one bark and then seemed to stops due to pain. Today was 3rd day with med/antibiotics. Will see how it goes tomorrow & decide whether to visit the regular vet or not. Last edited by prozario; 04-29-2021 at 08:02 PM. |

| I hope you do get to the bottom of it all, it’s such a worry when they are ill.

Regular vet checked him out Saturday - and said other vet med seems to be correct and wanted to continue with antibiotic (finish the course - antibiotic was for 14 days), and stimulant. He thought the dog looked stable and didn't see anything obvious - rechecked teeth, stomach, anal glad etc. So looked more energetic Saturday/Sunday. Bit less active today. On good side - with door bell, he automatically barks - and that has improved, don't see what he was doing before - where he would bark once, and seemed in pain and would stop. Now he can bark more normal - but just does not bark as much. Vet gave Hill's prescription can food - soft/wet. Ate it well for first few days, now seems like he is getting bored with that, but does eat a little. Just avoids any hard stuff like treats and other usual things he would eat in past. On and off drinks water by himself, and noticed if i walk him out, and it is hot, then gets into drinking water. Just lot of enticing and figuring out ways to get him to eat soft food and water. Thanks again for kind words - just hoping it keeps improving a small step at a time. | |

| All - thanks for all the kind/helpful post. I meant to post earlier, but every time in past i am planning to post, yoriki got worse. So we had on and off days for 3-4 weeks. One time i thought it was mostly normal - he was eating/drinking - next day he woke up and again stopped eating. He would not play and do lot of his usual stuff - thought with his age (10 years), maybe just have to be happy if he starts eating/drinking. Was under lot of stress as I had a vacation planned and had arranged for him to stay 9 days with my uncle. Just 2 days before he stopped eating again. Was wondering whether to cancel vacation or not. And in the end, figured we go to vacation, as it was manageable to give him the canned food from vet - spoon feeding, and few other soft stuff. And every few days - if needed stimulant helped. SO had to have a lenghty convo with uncle in terms of how to feed. him, how to trick him to drink water etc etc. So went to vacation, bit worried and all that - so call 1st day to check, doing okay. 2nd day doing fine .. by 3rd, 4th day, uncle tells me he is eating by himself/drinking water, eating ham and other stuff that he was refusing to eat earlier. So come back from vacation after 9 days - all normal now. Started walking 2x than his usual route. We usually used to do two rounds of walking at night - that's about slightly less than 1 mile. Now he insist on doing it 4 times - which is like 2 miles and still want to talk. Playing/jumping etc etc - all normal. So glad he is back to his old self. Many thanks for all those who posted kind words. |
