| 7 months old forgot her potty training? hello everyone, my baby is about 7 months old now, not spayed and healthy. i have pad trained her and she was doing well, i would say 90% success , i have 2 pads for her as she likes to do number2 on a different pad. but recently the past 2 weeks, her accidents have been getting more frequent, especially with pee. she is refusing to use the pad most of the time. last week took her before bedtime to the pad, told her to go potty, but she just didn't want. off to bed we went and she peed on my bed straight away. i was wondering if its a phase, or maybe she is nearing her heat cycle as she keeps mounting the cat. if anyone has dealt with this before... any advice would be great. |

| I think as they get older we start to slip up on potty training as well as that seems to be the age I hear of puppies regressing so I think it can be a bit of both. If she is peeing more then normal though you need to have her checked for a UTI. Just start back at the basics of potty training. If she doesn't go potty before bed I wouldn't be letting her on the bed. I crate train mine though and generally do that until a year old except for my Ollie bear who loves his crate and feels safe tucked into it at night.

| I had that same issue with my dog. He was potty trained and around 6 months started peeing anywhere but only pooping on the pee pad. I cleaned my floor (hardwood) floor with specific dog odor and no marking spray. Then went back to praising him when he did use the pee pad. Since I noticed he knew what he was doing I stopped praising him. So after cleaning and starting back praising him with verbal good boy and treats and pets he got back into the swing of using the pee pad. |
