| Hawks beware As many of you know my Cali has had hawk encounters of the worst kind but survived. But we are noticing a lot more of them lately so folks please be careful. If your pup is too big to be carried off, understand a hawk will disable it and eat it right there on the ground. Don’t get complacent where they are concerned and remember the hawks are protected by the International Migratory Bird Act and the fine is stiff!

| I have noticed a lot more of all animals lately. I would take the fine if I was protecting my baby or just not tell anyone and get rid of the evidence lol.

| Thanks for reminding us. Your story is so amazing about the hawk that I have repeated several times to my dog lover friends.

Absolutely - after getting a horrendous fine because they believed I killed the hawk stating they thought my dog was too small to have killed the hawk. Long story short the necroscopy of the hawk defended my innocence and the ferocity of my Yorkie so my advice to all is - if I had gotten there earlier when my baby was fighting for her life I would have dispatched that hawk, kept my mouth shut and buried it to China. The court and attorney to defend my self was a bit over $5000.
