| ![]() The welcome screen suggested posting an introduction message here. So: Over 32 years of marriage, we have had two beloved Scotties and then a wonderful "scoodle," half-Scottie and half-poodle, from a local shelter. Then we lost our scoodle last month, and within a week we started looking for another dog, at shelters and rescue groups. Then a Yorkie showed up as a lost stray at a shelter 3 hours from our house. She came home with us; "Cricket" has been with us for 2.5 days so far, and we are head over heels in love. The story is at: https://kuzenski.org/cricket Cricket was nervous, timid, and scared when she got home, and now just a couple of days later, she's romping through her big back yard, playing with toys, and insisting on sitting in my wife's lap every moment she isn't doing something else. :-) Our hearts have been melted. I thought it might nice to join your Yorkie community, now that I'm a Yorkie lover :-) and see some Yorkie chat. Hello! --ken (BTW, "AC4RD" is the callsign for my FCC license to operate radio transmitters; a lot of use that because each is a unique ID. My first name is Ken.) |

| ![]() Welcome to YT Ken, and congratulations on your adorable little girl! Cricket seems to be adjusting at record speed, and in a few days you will probably have trouble remembering a time when she was not a member of the family. There is nothing better than having a little ball of fur snuggled up with you at night...even if you have a bit of a stiff neck in the morning. Best wishes for all of the wonderful adventures you will share together!

| ![]() Welcome to YT and congrats on your new found love and thank you for rescuing. Yorkies are by no means foo foo dogs lol, they are fierce little hunters of small prey. Cricket is just adorable and sounds like she is bonding with you and the Mrs fast, which is just wonderful for a pup found as a stray. She is also a nice weight at 12 Lbs, although bigger then standard yorkie size (7Lbs) jumping on and off furniture will not be an issue. My guy is a rescue also weighing in at 11 Lbs. Have fun with this baby, you're on a start to great adventures with your yorkie lol.

| ![]() Welcome to YT. She's a lucky little girl to be adopted by you and your wife. There's nothing in this world like a Yorkie! My 5.6 pound Gidget is the head of my household (I'm a widow) and I wouldn't take a million dollars for her. |

| ![]() Thanks for the pics. She is adorable, and the shots of her romping in the yard are priceless! Hope she has a short recovery time from her spay, and she can play outside soon.

| ![]() Welcome to YorkieTalk. Your baby sounds utterly wonderful and all doglovers rejoice over rescuing a lost or surrendered little one from a shelter, giving them a loving, responsible forever home to settle down in, recover from the grief and loss the dog has been through in losing its former home and family pack! Thank you for your compassion and love of dogs. Aren't Yorkies just the best?!?! ![]() ![]() ![]()
