| Simparica Trio Has anyone heard of Simparica Trio? Apparently it was just approved by the FDA last month as a single tablet to treat heart worm, fleas and ticks? I would love to only give the pups one pill a month but will definitely wait until I can read more reviews. I am always cautious at first when something is first approved by the FDA. Wanted to see if anyone else heard about it. I don't have to refill my supply until August so hopefully will have more information by that time.

| I use Simparica for fleas and ticks per my vets advise. Cody is not due for his yearly until July. I will check with my vet at that time. I would be hesitant to try anything that hasn't been out and used for several years as I live in a very heavily wooded area.

| Yeah I saw that. It sounds great but it makes me slightly nervous. I like the company that makes Simparica though. But I personally would like to wait a few years prior to trying a new product.

| Like the others who responded, I would hesitate to use a newly approved medication, especially on a very small dog. Simparica is one of a class of drugs that already is known for causing a risk of seizures and neurological damage in some dogs. Until there’s more history, who can guess whether adding another drug will increase the risk? |

| We live in the Country and ticks and fleas ARE a problem. Wedo treat our cats and other dogs, but not Katy (at least we have not yet). With treating everyone else, and Katy's frequent bathes, she has not had a problem, with either, at least, as I said, not yet. (It is just Spring still, so.....) I also brush Katy out 2x per day, at least, so keeping an eye on skin helps too. I have a flea comb, but have not used it (yet) for fleas. She's so small. I worry about the poisons. |
