| Aspen really is a doll and it's a shame that this breeder has this kind of feed back. However... There are so many great breeders out there to research and you will find one who has just the perfect fur baby for you.

| Kim thanks for the info, I just logged on to tell everyone that I will not be getting Aspen and seen that you PMed me. I called to talk to this breeder and she didn't have many ?'s for me but I had lots for her. She sounded alittle annoyed with me but happy to sell me her puppy. Then I told her I would fly to get the pup and I don't think she really liked that ideal. Anyway I got some bad vibes and decided not to get that little cutie. After reading this post I guess I made the right choice. (even if I am totally sad and disappointed. Thanks, Tricia

| Misti Dawn Tricia, I bought Misti Dawn when she was almost 6 months old from Kim Brock. Misti was NOT her pup but she was selling her for some friend of hers. I am very fortunate that Misti is perfectly allright and will be 11 months old on the 3rd. Kim brought Misti to meet me near the airport so I have never been to her place in Henrietta.....however, I notice now she also has a bad reputation from someone on Puppyfind.com where she has some pups advertised. I, myself would not buy a pup sight unseen but many do and have great luck. Two of my pups came from a wonderful breeder about an hour from me and I would recommend her to the world. Stormi and Rainbow came from her, different litters, and I have been to her home and kennel repeatedly just to visit or get answers and help and advice. Her name is Gloria and her website is www.chrismarkkennels.com She is an awesome lady and has been in the business over 20 years and has the most adorable adults and pups I have ever seen in one place. Her kennel is immaculate and you can even see it on her website. I notice she has some adorable boys available now. Just take a look and best of luck finding your special baby!! By the way Rainbow and Stormi are now 6 and 7 months old and I would be happy to send you a picture of them if you would like. |

| Kim Brock Breeder I have read all the threads about Kim Brock. I just wanted to post that I purchased Diablo from her yesterday. He was flown into Boston by Priority Mail on a direct flight. I took him to my vet today who I have had for over 7 years and he is very thorough. Diablo got a clean bill of health except for some earmites which is not that uncommon. He is an absolute Doll! He is the cutest yorkie , full of energy and the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen. As a Yorkie owner already I was also concerned about any knee problems and other small breed problems. He is only 12 weeks so I realize problems could arise down the road and if they do I will keep you posted. I specifically found this forum by putting the name Kim Brock in the Google Box and here I am . I don't know any of you or Kim Brock but thought it was only fair to post my postive experience so far. I think this forum is a good thing for people trying to find out about the Yorkies they purchase when you see all the problems you can have out there. I also have already signed my agreement and realize if any problems do arise I am on my own , since the knee problem isn't covered in the warranty and Diablo was to young to be able to check for this . This is also my first post, Maybe I should have waited a while before posting about this subject till everyones post have calmed down a little |

I do not know either of you involved People, but I do think you should have waited a while to post such positive comments. Since your puppy is so young you have no way of knowing what may lie down the line....please let us know in about a year or so......in the meantime I do wish you the best of luck with your new baby.By the way..are you saying you do not have a years guarantee for genetic defects which may arise in your contract. ?

| Hi Nancy - The knee problem you're referring to is Luxating Patella; it is a genetic defect and is usually covered under a 1 year genetic warranty from your breeder. Bad knees are usually genetic unless they come from an injury such as being dropped or falling from a high place.

| I do have a year warranty for genetic defects that would cause death but most problems that could arise later that are known problems that are fairly common and are not life threatning are not covered. I read this and understood it completely. As a owner of another Yorkie and Maltese whom I both paid over 2000 for came with a warranty that covered such defects but then, doesn't really cover them when you have a problem. I think its kind of like the warranties at the computer chains, they cover everything till you take it in for a problem, its either expired or from your misuse or abuse so to speak. I have read alot of the breeders contracts and I have saw some that say if you do find Patellar Luxation in you dog that it could have been caused by the dog jumping off furniture and beds and so forth that you have to prevent this. ( with my yorkie this is totally impossible, l'm thinking of changing Jasmines name to Rabbit!) any way they will not cover this unless it is proven that trauma was not the cause ,which the only way to prove it is for the dog to have surgery and for the vet to look to see if the ligament was torn or something to that effect. Also two vets have to see the X-rays and come to the same conclusion if not a third must be seen and so on. By the time you go through all this you have probably already spent the money you could have just paid for the surgery. And who is going to return there beloved pet! There are many grades of this particular disease and it is very possible that you or your yorkie won't even need to have the surgery if its minor. PLEASE no yelling at me, I also know there are some babies out there who have had a worse case and that would be very traumatic and of course it is best avoided. I am just saying from all the reading and research I have done, it seems to be a very common problem in alot of small dogs llike the yourkies. It would be nice though if a Breeder knew there dog could be a carrier of the Patellar Luxation to be honest about it and instead of selling the dog for 2000 or 3000 sell it for alot less , let the person know it is a possibillity though remotely so and if the problem should arise you paid 1000 or 2000 less than if the dog had been clear of this possiblity. I paid 2300 for mine and didn't get that guarantee, If mine has the Patellar problem down the road I am going to be very upset, but it is fixable and I am in love already . My son is deaf, we knew it early on , there were no guarantees and we wouldn't have exchanged him even if we could have! Nancy |
