| ![]() I'm really upset about some of the harsh responses Yorkie parents are getting when they are asking for advice and direction with their little ones. We all come to this forum with issues we are having and we want advice, caring and non-judgmental replies. I hurt for some of these parents who are struggling with issues with their fur babies. Some of them are really frustrated with behavior issues. Let's remember to respond to them with kindness, sympathy and compassion. Let's make 2020 a year of KINDNESS. ![]() |

| ![]() I think it’s important to make sure you are reading the full thread because many times people are very helpful but it gets tense when people decide to not do anything and just get rid of a dog. To many people these days just want to get rid of dogs rather then put in a little time to fix the issues. Getting rid of a dog should be the absolute last thing you do. Like I have said before I won’t apologize for being passionate and advocating for these poor pups that just get thrown away. A lot of people have not been on the side of taking care of and dealing with a dog that has been thrown away and I have been. Training is a huge part of owning a dog and that is potty training, manor training and so on and if you don’t want to do any of that it might be best not to get dog. Getting a dog that has had previous owners is generally considered a rescue and often can come with issues and require a little more time then others and that’s not for everyone. When a dog has a huge training issue though you can’t just sell that dog to someone else with those significant issues and it’s much better to surrender to a rescue that knows how to pick people and can start the process with helping to fix the issues. Also when I person refuses to train their dog but then goes on their posts to attack other posters for not training their dog or how they wrote their post it makes you seem them differently as a person and get a little upset with them or when they name call when no one else has resorted to that. I take it extremely serious when people want to just sell or get rid of their dogs especially if it is a fixable problem. Some people don’t even really want help sometimes and just want to be told they are right even if they are wrong. You also have to be careful when reading typed words because you don’t know the tone of the words.

| ![]() And I’m just saying this in itself feels like an attack just a passive aggressive one.

Often we never truly know and understand what another poster is trying to express nor do we even try. Instead of showing empathy we just react to our "feelings" about what we think we understand after reading a post. In almost all conversations there is more than one right answer. Each of us bases our conclusions on our life experiences, education, emotional status and maturity and not all of us are on the same levels. Our main goal here at YorkieTalk should have the best interests of our beloved Yorkies first and foremost. If we can't communicate appropriately with other posters we can't expect our ideas and opinions to have a positive impact. | |

| ![]() Joan, you are absolutely 100% spot on. I couldn't agree more. As frustrating as it is, not everyone realizes what a precious gift our furkids are. Sadly, way too many undeserving humans consider our furkids as possessions and not family. |
